    • The comminution and distribution device according to the invention can be used to crush comminutable, pumpable materials, in particular mechanically dewatered slurry, into roughly the same sized pieces, and feed them in controllable quantities to a downstream device, e.g., a dryer. To this end, the slurry is conveyed through a gap formed by two oppositely rotatable parts. In preferred embodiments of the device according to the invention, both parts exhibit recesses on the side facing the gap, which are designed in such a way that, when the two parts are turned opposite each other in the preset rotational direction, slurry strands with periodically alternating areas with smaller and larger cross sections are formed, transported outside and split at locations exhibiting smaller cross sections.

    • The present invention is designed to perform a primary crushing operation including hooking and crushing of the top face part of waste through cooperation of a supporting projection and a first crushing roller. The first crushing roller also conveys the waste. A secondary crushing operation includes crushing of a bottom face part and the top face part of the waste W, while lifting the waste is performed by the first crushing roller and a second crushing roller. And, a tertiary crushing operation including crushing of the object material, that is to be crushed, into small pieces and discharging of these pieces separately from the materials that are unfit for crushing is performed by the second crushing roller and a third crushing roller. The primary crushing operation, secondary crushing operation and tertiary crushing operation are performed one after another, for the purpose of separating and discharging materials that are unfit for crushing without deforming them, and accurately crushing the object material such as frame member, etc., even if the waste is directly submitted to the crushing operations without removing the materials that are unfit for crushing such as a motor, compressor, etc. The recovery ratio of valuables is thus improved upon.

    • An apparatus for receiving wood scraps from a work area and reducing the scraps to wood chips having a saleable consistency and size. The apparatus includes a combined chipper and a blower section, the chipper section being mounted on the intake side of the blower section so that the blower section draws the wood scraps into the chipper section, and then draws the resulting chips from the chipper section and discharges them to a predetermined collection area. The chipper section includes a grate having a plurality of through openings, and a rotating chipper blade that is positioned in front of the grate. The blower fan is mounted behind the grate so as to receive the chips passing therethrough, and discharges the chips through an opening in the surrounding housing. A flexible hose or other conduit may be mounted to the intake opening of the chipper section for vacuuming up and collecting wood scraps from the work area. A vertically extending chute may also be included for combined gravity and vacuum feed of the wood scraps.

The improvement of the present invention is a separation means comprised of a flaking shaft on substantially the same plane as the support surface, the shaft having at least one flaking sprocket mounted thereon with at least one tooth with a concave leading edge and a convex trailing edge, the two edges meeting in a tip, and the shaft driven so as to rotate at a low speed so that the concave edge of the tooth engages the bale on the up stroke gently separating the bale into flaked portions and discharging the flaked portions up and away from the separating means.
