    • A bicycle seat is provided which is designed to relieve pressure on the perineal area of riders, as well as relieve pressure on the ischial tuberosities, commonly known as the sit bones, of a rider. The seat includes a mount in the form of a pair of parallel and spaced apart mounting members. A pair of a support members extend upwardly and rearwardly in relation to the respective mounting members for supporting a pair of annular seat members thereon which support the buttocks of the rider. The support members and seat members supported thereon are movable relative to the mounting members between flexed and unflexed positions. The seat members include a peripheral seating surface about a central opening which suspends the sit bones of the rider therein. The seat is simple in construction, being formed by bent rods of material with padded material injection molded integrally about the rods.

Springs (184, 190) may be provided between the mounting rail (40) and the shell (11). In other embodiments (FIGS. 42 to 80), the seal may include chambers for receiving air to cushion and provide support for a rider.

    • A bicycle saddle in which the rear one third of the saddle is an elevated level platform supports the cyclist's weight on the ischial tuberosities, while forward of the platform the saddle's surface steps down and then continuously slopes downward towards the saddle's nose. Thus the only points of the rider's anatomy in weight bearing contact with the saddle are the ischial tuberosities, as the rider's soft perineal tissue is positioned above the stepped down and downward sloping portion of the saddle. Additionally, to guard against soft tissue contact with the saddle for some riders having a lowered or forward cycling position, a groove runs from the middle of the level platform along the saddle surface to the saddle's nose. The shell of the saddle is supported by an armature rail fabricated from rigid rod, which connects the saddle to the bicycle frame. The rear of the armature is mated to the shell by means of a bridge element transversely secured to the bottom of the saddle's shell. The bridge is located at the forward edge of the elevated platform allowing the rear of the saddle to flex downwards, and resulting in better absorption of vibration and impact shock transferred up through the bicycle frame. Additionally, patterns of perforations are cut through the plastic saddle shell under the preferred location for the ischial tuberosities which center the rider in position on the platform, and allow the ischial bones greater freedom of movement as the rider pedals.

    • A bicycle seat for a bicycle having a frame with a seat post. A seat base plate is mounted at the upper end of the seat post. Passenger supporting extensions are mounted pivotally on the base plate for limited angular displacement relative to a fore-and-aft centerline of the seat. A cushion member is supported on the base plate, a cushion with a rounded peripheral surface is secured to each extension, the cushion for the base plate having a rounded periphery that registers with the rounded surface of each cushion on the extensions. The cushion for the base plate has a rearward margin defining a shoulder providing a reaction location that accommodates rearward force reaction to forces applied by the right ilium and the left ilium of the pelvis of a bicycle rider. Each cushion for the extensions cooperates with the rounded periphery of the base plate cushion to form a crease that is positioned to receive an ischium extremity of the pelvis of a bicycle rider. The forces distributed to each ischium of the pelvis of a bicycle rider having a fore-and-aft component and a lateral component, thereby providing fore-and-aft stability and lateral stability for the bicycle rider.

    • A motorcycle accessory quick-release attachment assembly is provided which consists of two or more motorcycle accessories adapted to be releasably attached to the same set of mounting studs without the use of tools. In a preferred embodiment, each motorcycle accessory includes one or more front hooks for mounting on the front mounting studs, one or more rear hooks for mounting on the rear mounting studs, and one or more latches rotatably connected to the rear hooks for securing and releasing the rear hooks to and from the rear mounting studs. Significantly, the configuration of the latches allows the accessories to be releasably attached to the same set of mounting studs. Each of the latches may be configured to receive a padlock to lock the rear hooks to the rear mounting studs. As such, the accessories can be optionally locked to the motorcycle to guard against theft.
