    • A marine propulsion drive apparatus has an input drive shaft with a propeller shaft extending through the stern of the boat and a drive body extending substantially straight out the stern of the boat and having a propeller at the end thereof. Steering is accomplished by operating the drive body itself. The drive body and the stern of the boat have a common oblique upward rearward slope. The contact surface of the drive body is mounted rotatably about an axis which is perpendicular to the contact surface such that when the boat is turned in one direction or the other, the entire drive body with the propeller mechanism is rotated about that contact surface, such that the propeller mechanism at the outer end of the drive body both rotates in the horizontal plane and also dips successively downwards following the rotating movement of the drive body.

    • A boat propeller drive unit of the inboard-outboard type, having a portion securely mounted in an opening in a boat transom and adapted to be drivingly connected to a motor inboard of the transom, and having a propeller leg disposed outboard of the transom. This leg is adjustable to various angles in relation to the transom by tilting about a horizontal axis and is pivotable about an upright steering support. The drive unit comprises an inductive sensor connected to a wire passing through a central bore of the steering shaft, and a magnetic core fixedly attached to the propeller leg. The magnetic core has magnetic areas separated by non-magnetic areas, and when the magnetic core is moved under the sensor, the sensor functions as a pulse counter to count a pulse of each magnetic area is moved under it. The sensor thus provides an output signal depending on the tilting angle relative to the transom, which signal indicates that angle.

    • The invention relates to a valve arrangement for preventing siphoning effect in an engine (1) which at least in part is arranged below a water line (5), comprising a first conduit (9) and a pump (11) for feeding water from the ambience of the vessel to said engine (1) through the conduit (9), with at least a portion (9') of the conduit (9) having an extension above the water line (5), and a valve arrangement (14) for alternating sealing and opening of said portion (9'). The valve arrangement is characterized in that the valve device (14) is connected to a canal (18) for feeding a pressurized media, with the function of the valve arrangement (14) being controlled depending on the pressure in said canal (18). By means of the invention, an improved valve arrangement is provided, especially for sailboats equipped with engines, using which it is possible to prevent water from leaking into the engine (1) due to siphoning effects.
