摘要： An over-molded fitment (10) is configured for mounting to a flexible packaging material (P). The fitment includes a flange (12) having first and second sides, a spout (14) extending upwardly from the first side of the flange and an over-molded sealing media molded onto the first side of the flange. The flange and spout are integral with one another and formed from a single first material. The over-molded sealing media (24) is formed from a second material different from the first material and having a density less than a density of the first material. The sealing media permits joining the different materials of the flexible packaging and the fitment that would otherwise not seal to one another. A method for forming the over-molded fitment and a package formed with the fitment are also disclosed.

摘要： A fitment for being sealed to a collapsible pouch has a body having at least one side wall portion, which is provided with spaced steps defining spaced shoulders, an inner end, which faces the interior of the collapsible pouch when the fitment is sealed to the collapsible pouch, and an outer end. The body of the fitment defines a reference plane and a range of peripheral dimensions, each of which is measured around one of the spaced steps or around one of the spaced shoulders, in a plane that is located at one of the inner and outer ends or between the inner and outer ends and that coincides with or is parallel to the reference plane. The peripheral dimensions increase from a smallest dimension at or toward one such end, through intermediate dimensions which between the inner and outer ends do not decrease after increasing, to a largest dimension at or toward the other end. Preferably, as viewed from either of the inner and outer ends, the body of the fitment has a substantially boat-shaped periphery defining two opposite edges and two opposite, side wall portions, each having such steps defining such shoulders. A fin projects from each of the opposite edges. Each shoulder has a sealing surface for sealing to one of two web portions of the collapsible pouch when the fitment is received by an opening of the collapsible pouch. The sealing surfaces taper outwardly or inwardly from one such end of the fitment toward the other end of the fitment.

摘要： Hydration systems with improved fluid reservoirs. An elongate drinking tube extends from the reservoir and includes a distal end upon which a mouthpiece may be mounted. In some embodiments, the mouthpiece is a self-sealing mouthpiece. The reservoir includes a fill port, through which drink fluid may be added to the reservoir, and a closure member in the form of a cap for selectively sealing the fill port. In some embodiments, the reservoir includes a support member that extends around the fill port, including a handle that projects generally away from the fill port, and is adapted to provide a counter lever to assist in opening and closing of the fill port and/or to position the reservoir for filling. In some embodiments, the hydration system includes a pack into which the reservoir is received.

摘要： A security bag includes a tamper-evident closure which provides a visual indication if the closure is opened. The closure includes an ink layer deposited on one wall of the security bag or on a flexible strip secured to one wall of the security bag, and an adhesive layer in overlying relationship with the ink layer for sealing the bag closed. The ink layer includes a release material deposited in a predetermined pattern, and a layer of a solid ink applied over the release material so that the predetermined pattern of the release material is not visible in the closure. The solid ink layer includes void spaces arranged in a predetermined pattern. Preferably, the pattern of the void spaces is out of registry with the pattern of the release material so that the void spaces and release material overlap to varying degrees in the closure. If the closure is forced open, the solid ink will delaminate from the surface on which it is printed, revealing in the closure the predetermined pattern of the release material. Because the release material and the void spaces overlap by varying degrees, it is difficult to use a quick-drying marker or other coloring technique to fill in the pattern created by the release material so as to conceal an unauthorized opening of the bag.

摘要： A reclosable package has a slider-operated string zipper joined to the receptacle mouth. The slider includes a plow that pries apart the zipper sections lying in its path during slider travel in an opening direction; first and second sidewalls disposed on opposite sides of the plow and bounding a slider tunnel, and first and second ledges supported by the plow. The first zipper part passes through a first space between the first sidewall and the plow, while the second zipper part passes through a second space between the second sidewall and the plow. The first ledge is the only portion of the slider that underlies any portion of the first zipper part, while the second ledge is the only portion of the slider that underlies any portion of the second zipper part. Accordingly, the ledges retain the zipper parts with the spaces on the opposing sides of the plow.
