[Class 8 (ii).] Comprises a closed air system containing a compressor plant in combination with a plurality of air engines in which the power output can be regulated independently in each engine by means of angularly-adjusted eccentrics actuating slide valves controlling the air flow through the engines. The back pressure is one quarter or more of the working pressure. Each engine comprises a number of parallel cylinders connected to cranks on a shaft A. Distribution is effected by slide valves driven by eccentrics or cranks M on a shaft parallel to the main shaft and driven therefrom by spur gearing with inclined teeth. One or both of the wheels are longitudinally movable to vary the out-off, the outlet, the compression and the inlet. In the construction shown, the wheels D, L have keys engaging slots in the shafts and are moved by the heads of bolts P on a crosshead H secured to a hand-operated spindle G, the wheels having grooves which receive the bolts.

摘要： A valve mechanism includes a valve, a camshaft, an intermediate swing arm located between a cam and the valve, a lift regulating mechanism and a roller assembly. The cam drives the valve to move by means of the intermediate swing arm. A peripheral surface of the eccentric wheel includes a lift regulating section having a start point and an end point, a maximum lift point of the lift regulating section is located between the start point and the end point, and the lift regulating section is divided into a first section which is convex and a second section having at least a part thereof concave.
