    • An apparatus and method for the treatment of waste solids that allows for the direct transfer of heat between hot waste solids and cold waste solids in a tube-in-tube heat exchanger. Cold solid waste is moved from a cold solid waste source through one tube of the heat exchanger, and hot solid waste is move from a hot solid waste source through the other tube of the tube-in-tube heat exchanger, and heat is transferred from the hot solid waste to the cold solid waste. The waste treatment, including the heat exchange, can occur in a batch mode or in a continuous mode.

    • A heat exchanger uses a refrigerant acting under a high pressure, such as carbon dioxide, as a refrigerant. The heat exchanger includes first and second header pipes arranged a predetermined distance from each other and parallel to each other, each having at least two chambers independently sectioned by a partition wall, a plurality of tubes for separately connecting the chambers of the first and second header pipes, facing each other, wherein the tubes are divided into at least two tube groups, each having a single refrigerant path, a refrigerant inlet pipe formed at the chamber disposed at one end portion of the first header pipe, through which the refrigerant is supplied, a plurality of return holes formed in the partition wall to connect two chambers adjacent to each other, through which the refrigerant sequentially flows the tube groups, and a refrigerant outlet pipe formed at the chamber of one of the first and second header pipes connected to a final tube group of the tube groups along the flow of the refrigerant, through which the refrigerant is exhausted.

    • A heat exchanger for a multi-stage air compressor. The heat exchanger includes several cooling chambers. Each cooling chamber is configured to receive compressed air from one of the compressor stages. A cooling tube is positioned to carry cooling fluid through each of the cooling chamber sequentially. The cooling chambers are also positioned in series so that heated fluid leaving the outlet of a first cooling chamber enters the inlet of a second cooling chamber after passing through an additional compressor stage.

    • A double heat exchanger includes a condenser having a condenser core and a condenser header tank, and a radiator having a radiator core and a radiator header tank. The condenser header tank is composed of a core plate having clamping portions and a tank portion having protruding portions. The protruding portions of the tank portion are clamped by the clamping portions of the core plate so that the tank portion is connected to the core plate in the condenser header tank. The protruding portions of the condenser header tank contacts the radiator header tank, thereby preventing the condenser and radiator header tanks from being inclined toward each other. Therefore, the condenser and radiator header tanks contact and are brazed to each other in a relatively small area. As a result, heat conduction from the radiator to the condenser is prevented, and heat exchange performance of the condenser can be improved.
