    • PURPOSE: To obtain a safety device that operates securely by pivoting the base edge side of a cylindrical spiral percussion spring for urging hammer around the axis to a sliding member that can be slid freely between a percussion position and a safe position, and releasing a trigger from the operation of a percussion device as the safe position. CONSTITUTION: A hammer 23 is pivoted at a body 5 by a first axis 25 and is provided with a second axis 27 being connected to an elastic member 29. The elastic member 29 composes the operating element of a percussion device. The elastic member 29 is composed of a spring guide pin 33 and a coaxial, cylindrical spiral percussion spring 31. The lower end of the spring guide pin 33 works in closer cooperation with a third axis 37, and the third coordination axis 37 works in closer cooperation with a slide member 39 that can be slid on the body 5 at a percussion position and a safe position. When a trigger 3 is operated at a percussion operation position, an engagement gear 1 is disengaged from a percussion gear 21, rotates the hammer 23, and is moved to the percussion position by the elastic member 29. When the slide member 39 is moved to a safe position, the elastic member 29 is inclined, a constituent that is vertical to the lever arm between the first axis 25 and the second axis 27 rotates the hammer 23 in a direction opposite to the percussion operation direction, and the trigger 3 is safely released from the operation of the percussion device at the safe position.
