摘要： A video processing apparatus is configured to process a stream of video data including associated metadata. The apparatus comprises means for: applying an image assessment algorithm to generate 330 a reliability score for the metadata, and associating 380 the score with the metadata. The metadata may describe objects in the video. The algorithm generates the score based on an assessment 320 of the image quality of the video data to which the metadata relates. It may determine the program used to generate the metadata and may assess the image based on environmental information and may limit 310 the assessment to within a bounding box. It may also be non-reference based. The reliability score may represent the accuracy of the metadata. The apparatus may further comprise video analytics operable to perform object detection on the video and generate 360 further metadata corresponding to the detected object.

If a matching region is determined, the processing engine stores, in a map 195 representing at least one of the first and second versions, an indication of the temporal location of the respective matching region. The processing engine then repeats the process by identifying audio fingerprints associated with temporal locations within the first version of the audio-visual product and outside of any matching region(s), determining further matching regions, and updating the map with indications of the temporal locations of the further matching regions.

Metadata may represent absolute characteristic(s) of data or data output (frame) changes, and may be used for image enhancement, scene change detection, scene-aware colour management, scaling or tone mapping. For data output as a YUV frame, metadata can comprise average YUV values and a low resolution luminance layer derived from the full resolution YUV frame. Other metadata parameters may comprise noise level information, or gradients and/or edge sharpness in data output regions. The system and associated method facilitates provision of metadata to assist consumer unit processing, while reducing or avoiding the need for consumer or user units (clients) themselves to generate metadata.

Metadata may be generated relating to predetermined objects, e.g. people (age, gender), cars (colour, vehicle type), licence (number) plates, etc, or activities of interest (e.g. behaviour such as loitering).

摘要： A clip of shots is uploaded to a conformance platform. The conformance platform evaluates the clip type and initiates shot boundary evaluation and detection. The identified shot boundaries are then seeded for OCR evaluation and the burned in metadata is extracted into categories using a custom OCR module based on the location of the burn-ins within the frame. The extracted metadata is then error corrected based on OCR evaluation of the neighboring frame and arbitrary frames at pre-computed timecode offsets from the frame boundary. The error corrected metadata and categories are then packaged into a metadata package and returned back to a conform editor. The application then presents the metadata package as an edit decision list with associated pictures and confidence level to the user. The user can further validate and override the edit decision list if necessary and then use it to directly to conform to the online content.

The invention extracts audio information from the media received by consumer electronic devices such as smart TVs and TV set-top boxes then conveys said information to a remote server means which will in turn identify said audio information of unknown identity by way of testing against a database of known audio segment information. The system identifies unknown media programming in real-time such that time-sensitive services may be offered such as interactive television applications providing contextually related information or television advertisement substitution. Other uses include tracking media consumption among many other services.
