摘要： This disclosure applies to an apparatus for scanning a film having a succession of frames along its length, the apparatus including a film transport for moving the film at a substantially uniform rate past a scanning position, means for electronically scanning the frames at the scanning position, and means for initially registering each frame to be scanned with the scanning beam. There is disclosed an improved system for continuously retaining registration between a particular frame being scanned and the scanning beam. Means are provided for continuously sensing changes in the velocity of the film during scanning of the particular frame and for generating a velocity error signal indicative of said changes. Further means are provided for accumulating values of the velocity error signal to produce a displacement error signal representative of the distance by by which velocity changes have displaced the particular film frame with respect to its initial registration with the scanning beam. Finally, means are provided for continuously correcting the scanning beam position in accordance with the displacement error signal. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the correcting means includes an auxiliary deflection yoke for the scanning tube, the yoke receiving correction signals from both a dynamic framing circuit and the displacement error circuit.

摘要： Super-8 motion-picture film is transported non-intermittently at constant speed, and its image is projected into an image plane in which is located a single row of photodiodes which extends transverse to the film transport direction. The photodiodes of the single photodiode-row are successively responsive to red, blue and green wavelengths. A bucket-brigade circuit or CCD including the photodiode-row furthermore includes a shift register which receives the photodiode signals in parallel, is then read out serially, with its output signal then time-division demultiplexed to obtain separate red, blue and green signals; or else three shift registers are used, each receiving signals only from those photodiodes responsive to a respective one of the three component colors. Whereas the photodiode-row is responsible for horizontal scanning, vertical scanning is achieved in part due to film transport per se and in part due to a tilting-mirror deflector which deflects the image projected onto the photodiode-row. The tilting-mirror deflector is a galvanometric moving-coil mechanism, and is energized by a sawtooth waveform to effect forwards scanning and abrupt vertical-direction flyback or tiltback, and is provided with special brief pulses for effecting abrupt direction reversals of the tilting mirror.

摘要： A hybrid instrument operable as a scanning electron microscope (SEM) or a scanning optical microscope comprises a scanning electron microscope provided additionally with a luminescent device (12) emitting light in response to incident electrons and which is removably insertible into the scanning electron beam (3) which is focused on the device to produce light therefrom. Removable means such as a lens 14 focuses scanned light (1 5) on a specimen (4) to be studied. Usually the instrument will have at least one additional detector which is responsive to a signal from the specimen in response to the incident light beam and which is connected to the image signal processing and display system of the SEM. The luminescent device (12), the lens (14), and the detector or detectors may be carried by a conversion specimen stage which can be interchanged with the normal specimen stage of the SEM when the instrument is to be used as a scanning optical microscope. The specimen (4) may lie outside the vacuum chamber.

摘要： 1362065 Film scanning AGFA-GEVAERT AG 19 July 1971 [18 July 1970] 33852/71 Heading H4F A continuously moved film 7 is scanned by a flying-spot scanner 5 such that each film frame is scanned three times is a direction opposite to its direction of travel. The area scanned during each television field is thus two-thirds of the height of a film frame and the scanned area is moved by one-third of a film frame height between consecutive scans of the same filmframe. Synchronization is achieved by using a lamp 12, a diaphragm 13 with three holes, and a photo-resistor 14 to detect perforations 7b in the film 7, the resulting signal being phasecompared with the vertical sync. signal used to drive the scanner 5, the resulting signal controlling the film-feed motor 11. The deflection voltage for the scanner 5 is generated by adding to the output of a sawtooth generator (16, Fig. 3, not shown) outputs from two astable multivibrators (17, 18) arranged to produce output signals during the second and third fields respectively of each set of three fields.
