    • An authentication device that authenticates an individual by using features of a biological object includes an input device 2 to place the biological object thereon, a plurality of image capture devices 9 that capture the biological object, an authentication processing unit 10 that processes images captured by the plurality of image capture devices, a plurality of light sources 3 to capture the features of the biological object and the biological object, and a storage device 14 that stores first feature data registered in advance.     • The present invention achieves high-accuracy multimodal biometric authentication of a plurality of body organisms while suppressing postural fluctuation when the plurality of body organisms are captured and suppressing the computational complexity of processing a plurality of biometric features. According to the present invention, an authentication system includes a storage device that stores feature quantities for a plurality of body organisms in association with users, a capture device that photographs body organisms, and an authentication processing device that performs biometric authentication on the basis of images inputted from the capture device. The capture device photographs a first body organism of a first user during a first period and captures a second body organism and a third body organism of the first user during a second period that is different from the first period. The authentication processing device calculates a first feature quantity from the first body part photographed during the first period, respectively calculates a second feature quantity and a third feature quantity from the second body organism and the third body organism captured during the second period and compares with the feature quantities for the body organisms of each user stored at the storage device.
