摘要： An optical disk comprising compressed moving picture data and an optical disk reproduction apparatus each capable of easily effecting trick play such as high speed reproduction and a retrieval operation at a high speed. Additional information necessary for trick play is recorded in an arbitrary area of an optical disk such as a TOC (Table of Contents) or a leading sector (sector 0) of the disk, and a sector address is added to each sector. To conduct trick play, an I picture, a P picture and a B picture contained in a GOP layer inside a bit stream of compressed image data are extracted and reproduced in accordance with a reproduction speed by looking up a trick play table.

Sectors are produced each including a plurality of (C1) correction blocks. Added to each (C1) correction block is a code enabling identification of a sector. To all data in the plural (C1) correction blocks, a second error correction (C2) code is added to record the resultant data on the disk to allow interleaving or deinterleaving completing in a block. The capacity of each sector is set to be substantially equal to that of a plurality of transport packets.

摘要： A tracking servo circuit for controlling an optical pickup is used in a tracking error detecting device including an optical system (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16) for forming on an optical disc (20) a main light spot (So) for illuminating a pit on the optical disc and forward and backward sub-light spots (S +1 , S -1 ). The forward and backward sub-light spots are disposed before and behind the main light spot in the moving direction of a track with a small distance between each of the sub-light spots and the main light spot and are shifted from the center line of the track, so that a half of each sub-light spot area is placed on the pits of the track. The tracking servo circuit includes photodetectors (31, 33) for detecting reflected light based upon the forward and backward sub-light spots, a tracking-error-signal detecting circuit (50) for detecting a difference between output signals from the photodetectors, a tracking control circuit (60) for controlling on the basis of an output signal from the tracking-error-signal detecting circuit an optical pickup for reading out a recorded signal which is recorded on a spiral track of the optical disc in the form of a row of pits, and a delay circuit (80) for delaying the output signal from the photodetector (31). A difference between the output signal delayed by the delay circuit and the output signal from the photodetector (33) is used as a tracking error signal.
