摘要： The present invention provides dual wavelength imaging compositions, processes for forming dual wavelength imaging compositions, methods for forming images using dual wavelength imaging compositions and substrate (e.g., paper web) treated (e.g., coated) on one or both sides with dual wavelength imaging compositions. Also provided is a dual wavelength imaging particulate comprising a matrix of polymer material and containing: one or more image-forming agents; a photo-oxidizing agent which is activated at a first wavelength of light to cause the one or more image-forming agents to form one or more images; and a reducing agent which is activated at a second wavelength of light to cause termination of the formation of the one or more images.

摘要： The present invention is directed to a photocurable composition for use as in particular an encapsulant, capable of curing at wavelengths greater than 290 nm. Reaction products of these photocurable compositions are opaque but good CTV is achieved. The composition is initially substantially transparent but becomes opaque on exposure to uv. The composition cures while the colour change takes place. In use, the photocurable composition may be applied, for instance, over the wire bonds that electrically connect a semiconductor device to a substrate to maintain a fixed positional relationship and protect the integrity of the electrical connection from vibrational and shock disturbances, as well as from interference from environmental contaminants.

摘要： Novel photopolymer compositions are disclosed which contain dyes that absorb strongly in the near infrared (near IR) region of the electromagnetic spectrum. These dyes are useful as photosensitizers for initiating a variety of photoimaging and photopolymerization reactions. Imaging Media are disclosed herein which are sensitive in the near infrared (near IR) region of the electromagnetic spectrum and which can initiate polymerization of ethylenically unsaturated monomer components in negative-acting photopolymer systems and/or which can initiate conversion of a leuco dye to its corresponding colored dye form. These imaging media comprise either a near IR dye photochemical sensitizer, a hexaarylbiimidazole (HABI) photoinitiator, a chain transfer agent, and a photopolymerizable material or a near IR dye photochemical sensitizer, a hexaarylbiimidazole (HABI) photoinitiator, and a leuco dye. These imaging media are useful in a variety of photopolymer products, including photoresists, proofing films, and holographic recording films.

摘要： Certain squaric acid derivatives and sulfonate esters are useful for the thermochemical generation of acid. The thermal acid generators may be used in imaging media in conjunction with acid-sensitive materials which undergo a color change when contacted by the acid generated. Preferably, the acid-sensitive materials undergo an irreversible color change, so that the image can be fixed by neutralizing all the acid generated with excess base, thereby preventing further color change in the image during long term storage.

The new imaging compositions are useful in preparing dual response photoimaging products such as proofing papers, printout paper, overlay films and photopolymerizable elements. Improved imaging speed is achieved at equal concentration levels when compared with conventional 2,4,5-triphenylimidazolyl dimers.
