摘要： Optical information media containing encapsulated data layers are disclosed. Selective layering of materials in inner radial, middle radial, and outer radial zones allows for the faces and edges of at least the data layers to be encapsulated by other materials, resulting in increased resistance to harmful environmental agents such as oxygen and moisture.

摘要： An information signal portion (1c) is structured by forming a reflecting layer (11), a first dielectric layer (12) of ZnS-SiO2, a recording layer (13) of a phase-change recording material, and a second dielectric layer (14) of ZnS-SiO2 on a replica substrate (1a) sequentially, and further forming a reaction-preventive layer (15) of Si3N4 or SiO2 on the second dielectric layer (14). A light-transmitting layer is provided by laying a light-transmitting sheet with an adhesive layer so as to cover the information signal layer (1c). If the reaction-preventive layer (15) is not provided, a reaction-preventive resin layer of an ultraviolet-curing resin is so formed as to cover the information signal portion (1c).

摘要： A single-sided double layer disc comprises a first access layer, a second access layer, a bonding layer, and a protective layer. The first and second access layers are used for allowing a driving device to access the disc. The second access layer includes a second substrate having a second coating surface, a reflective layer laminated on the second coating surface, and a second recording layer laminated on the reflective layer. The protective layer, made of metal or semiconductor material, is formed on the second recording layer. The bonding layer is formed between the first access layer and the protective layer for bonding the first access layer and the second access layer such that the second recording layer faces the first access layer.

摘要： Methods and apparatus are provided for making an optically readable storage media in which the reading beam passes through a bonding layer configured with a reactive material that transforms from an optically transparent state to an optically opaque state after exposure to a predefined stimulus, thereby inhibiting axes to the data encoded on the optically readable storage media. The method includes steps of synthesizing a blocked dye combining the blocked dye with a carrier material curing the resultant combination deblocking the dye to produce a reduced day in the resultant bonding layer exposing the optically readable storage media with the reactive material in its bonding layer to a predetermined stimulus. In a further aspect of the present invention methods and apparatus are provided for making an optically readable storage media wherein the reading light passes through the bonding layer and the data encoded information is encoded on the L1 substrate. In yet another aspect of the present invention methods and apparatus are provided for making an optically readable storage media with at least two mechanisms for limiting access to the encoded data of the optically readable storage media.
