    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispence with an external power supply by fiting a wavelength shift member to a light incident face of a solar battery, shifting the radiation passing through the member to a visible light area, thereby alloying, the battery to generate electricity by means of visible light. SOLUTION: A wavelength shift member 2 is mounted on the light incident face of a solar battery 1. The radiation such as gumma ray passing through the member 2 is shifted to a visible light area by the member 2 and then making it reach the battery 1. The battery 1 produces electricity by menus of visible light. As the material of the member 2, synthetic resin such as cesium iodide or plastic is most suitable. Since cesium iodide is heat resistant and effective to the radiation generating decay heat. The synthetic resin such as plastic has a radiation resistant characteristic and can be set freely in its width and the like, and also is convenient for controlling the wavelength shift characteristics. In this way, through a simple and inexpensive constitution, an external power source can be made unnecessary.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hermetic turbo-compression refrigerating machine capable of improving efficiency of a whole refrigerating machine, by reducing windage loss due to a large amount of coolant gas, or coolant gas containing droplets.
      SOLUTION: A motor casing 23 of a hermetic motor 20 driving a two stage turbo compressor 12 has a hollow jacket 23a, a gas supply port 23b, and a gas return port 23c. Coolant liquid is supplied to the hollow jacket 23a from an economizer 19 of a middle pressure by a coolant liquid supply pipe 32, a stator 21 in the hollow jacket 23a is indirectly cooled by the coolant liquid, coolant gas gasified in the hollow jacket is supplied to one end of a rotor in the casing, the stator 21 and the rotor 22 are directly cooled from the one end of the rotor through a gap between the stator 21 and the rotor 22, and the coolant gas having reached another end of the rotor is returned to a low pressure evaporator by a coolant gas return pipe 34.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a cost reduction through a long life and weight reduction/downsizing of a machine, by a decrease of reduction load.
      SOLUTION: The thickness press machine 11 comprises metal dies 13 installed to pinch a slab 12 to be transferred from the top and bottom sides, sliders 14A, 14B which are attached to each of the dies 13 and move the dies 13 applying reduction on the slab 12, and a driving mechanism to drive the sliders 14A, 14B. The sliders 14A, 14B are equipped with cranks 17 that comprise a first shaft 17a arranged rotatably in a round opening in the width direction of the main body 16 and a second narrower shaft 17b having a central axis B eccentric to a central axis A of the first shaft 17a. The central axes A, B of the first shaft 17a and the second shaft 17b respectively are skewed in the plane parallel to the slab in the rectangular direction to the transfer direction of the slab 12. While the second shaft 17b is driven to rotate by the driving mechanism, the slider 14A and 14B apply reduction moving along lines α and β which are skewed to the transfer direction of the slab 12 oppositely each other in the plane parallel to the slab.
