Preferably, a material constituting the chemicals evaporating face in the chemicals preserver is selected from the group of cotton, polyamide, polyester, silk, wool, rayon, acetate and polyacrylics.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for controlling an insect pest equipped with a chamber of a hollow shape, a fan having a specific diameter and a chemical holding material and capable of sufficiently ensuring the amount of a volatilized controlling ingredient for the insect pest and miniaturizing the whole apparatus. SOLUTION: This apparatus 10 for controlling an insect pest is obtained by installing a chamber of a hollow shape having air suction ports 16 and vent ports 17, a fan 13 provided between the air suction ports 16 and the vent ports 17 in the chamber and producing an air current from the air suction ports 16 to the vent ports 17 in the chamber and a chemical holding material 12 provided between the fan 13 and the vent ports 17 in the chamber, carrying the held controlling ingredient for the insect pest on the air current with the fan 13 and volatilizing the controlling ingredient for the insect pest from the vent ports 17 to the outside of the chamber. The diameter of the fan 13 is smaller than the dimensions of the chemical holding material 12 in the direction intersecting the air current at right angles and the fan 13 and the chemical holding material 12 are arranged in close vicinity at a prescribed interval.
