SOLUTION: When a job is inputted (S101), a control section reads a variable i from a storage section (S102), and determines whether the value of the variable i has exceeded 1000 or not (S103). When it has not exceeded 1000, the control section measures the moisture content and electric resistance of paper to be supplied (S104 and S105). The control section then determines from the result of the measurement whether or not the paper is the back surface of used one, the one side of which has been used (S106). When the determination is made that the paper is the back surface of used one, the paper is delivered to a used-paper storage tray (S107) and one is added to the variable i (S108). When the value of the variable i has exceeded 1000, the control section determines whether the switching of a paper tray is possible or not (S121). When it is possible, the control section switches the paper tray (S122). When it is not possible, the control section temporarily stops the job (S123), and stores the variable i (S114). When the determination is made that the paper is the back surface of used one, image formation is carried out on the paper (S111 and S112). The series of steps are repeated until the job is finished.
