    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element having a high luminous efficiency.SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element has a structure in which a positive electrode 2, a first organic layer 4 principally composed of a first organic material, a second organic layer 5 principally composed of a second organic material, and a negative electrode 7 are laminated in this order. At least one of the first organic layer 4 and the second organic layer 5 contains a luminous material, and following formulae (A) and (B) are satisfied. Formula (A)T1(first)-T1(light emission)>0.19 eV, formula (B)T1(second)-T1(light emission)>0.24 eV (T1(first), T1(second), T1(light emission) represent, respectively, the minimum excitation triplet energy level at 77° K of the first organic material, the second organic material, and the luminous material, respectively).
