摘要： PURPOSE:To detect defects in various directions on a sheet material to be checked, by providing as a linear light source a plurality of steps each composed of a row of projecting ends of optical fibers aligned linearly and changing a direction of an optical axis of lights projecting from said projecting ends of optical fibers for every row. CONSTITUTION:For a linear light source 7, there are provided a plurality of steps each composed of a row of spot light sources having many projecting ends 1 of optical fibers 3 aligned linearly. A direction of an optical axis of lights projecting from the projecting ends 1 is changed for every row. For example, as indicated in the drawings, there are provided two, upper and lower, steps of rows of projecting ends 1. 摘要： PURPOSE:To improve safety, save labor and reduce cost by a method wherein a group V compound is sufficiently thermally decomposed by a group V compound decomposition furnace and a pipe for feeding group V is maintained at high temperature. CONSTITUTION:A group V compound decomposition furnace is equipped with a number of fins inside and coated so that it does not react with a group V compound. When growing GaInP on a substrate 3, valves 30, 31, 32 are opened and trimethyl gallium and trimethyl indium diluted by hydrogen is fed from a feeding pipe 5, and phosphine is thermally decomposed by a group V compound decomposition furnace 6 to be gas containing a sufficient amount of P4 and fed to a reaction pipe 1 via a feeding pipe 4 maintained at high temperature by a heater 13. This system enables efficient GaInP growth by using about 1/3 of poisonous phosphine compared with the amount required for conventional systems and without clogging of feeding pipes.

摘要： PURPOSE:To dispense with complicated machining of rigid-body plates of a sensor and to facilitate assembling and fitting of the rigid-body plates, by a method wherein an optical fiber bundle formed by braiding a plurality of optical fibers is used as a pressure detecting element. CONSTITUTION:A braided bundle 1 of optical fibers is in a uniform state when it is not pressed. When a pressure is applied to the optical fiber bundle 1, only a part thereof to which the pressure is applied is deformed, and therefore a loss of light in optical fibers 2 in this part increases. While the loss of light increases with an increase in a pressing force, it tends to be different according to braiding. Accordingly, pressure sensors having different sensitivities can be furnished by adjusting the number of times of braiding. In other words, the sensor requiring a large sensitivity can be furnished by increasing the number of braidings, while the sensor not requiring the same can be furnished by lessening said number. Since a pressure detecting element is constructed of the braided optical fibers in this way, a pressure member having a specific indented surface is dispensed with, and the pressure sensor can be constructed only by holding the pressure detecting element between flat rigid-body plates 5.

Under these conditions, the use of Mg as a single element dopant makes it possible to obtain a p-type AlGaInP single crystal which is equally thin-filmed and excellent in terms of its crystallinity.
