    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer having impression cylinder cleaning function, which has durability and has a gripper capable of preventing noise.SOLUTION: In cleaning of the printer, a cleaning device 70 is brought closer to an impression cylinder 3 by action of an air cylinder 80 and a cleaning cloth W is contacted with the impression cylinder 3 to clean the printer. When a gripper 52 reaches a position corresponding to the cleaning device 70, the gripper 52 is half-opened by action of a half open face 7c of the gripper and a cam follower 55 and the gripper 52 is sunk further down into the center side inner than the outer periphery line (a profile) of the impression cylinder 3, thereby avoiding collision with the cleaning device 70, with no risk of damaging the cleaning cloth. The gripper 52 is by no means closed, therefore preventing noise and abrasion. Further, the cleaning device needs not be retreated every time the gripper is brought closer, therefore enabling the device to be simply structured to improve durability.
