    • PURPOSE:To save the electric power of an equipment and reduce the weight of the equipment by verticality arranging a cylindrical holder at the lower part opened port part of a hopper into which shot ballast is accommodated and arranging an even number of electromagnetic coils so that the magnetic flux direction is set opposite, at the outer peripheral part of the holder. CONSTITUTION:At the lower part opened port part of a hopper 1 into which shot ballast 2 is accommodated, a cylindrical holder 3 is arranged in the vertical direction. At the outer peripheral part of the holder 3, a plurality of electromagnetic coils 4 are arranged in an equal interval in the circumferential direction in the radial direction, and the magnetic flux direction in each contiguous electromagnetic coil 4 is set opposite. Further, each electromagnetic coil 4 is accommodated into a uniform pressure container 6, and immersed into oil 7. Further, in the holder 3, a magnetic body 5 is arranged. Accordingly, the electric power necessary for holding the shot ballst 2 in the equal quantity to that in the conventional can be economized drastically to 5W or so in comparison with 100W or so in the conventional. While, the perfect waterproofness is obtained, and the necessity of a pressureproof container can be obviated, and the reduction of weight can be achieved.

    • PURPOSE:To allow checking the operation of the main body of an unmanned diving machine which is desirable for deep sea bottom investigations by providing a positive buoyancy material at the top of the main body and a negative buoyancy material at the bottom so that each of the materials can be separated from the main body. CONSTITUTION:The main body of an unmanned diving machine 1 incorporating a battery as an energy source for automatic operations has a positive buoyancy material 2 installed at the top via a buoyancy material separation device 4 and similarly, two negative buoyancy materials 3 installed at the bottom via a buoyancy material separation device 4. In operation, the unmanned diving machine is unloaded from a mother ship to alight on the water and the presence of the positive buoyancy material 2 allows the main body 1 to float on the sea surface. In this state, the operation of each part of the main body 1 is checked and then the positive buoyancy material 2 is separated to allow the diving machine to naturally sink to a target depth by allowing the machine itself to serve as a negative buoyancy. The diving machine is made to make investigations at the target depth and after specified investigations are finished, the negative buoyancy materials are separated to allow the main body 1 to surface so that it can be recovered.
