    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a material ameliorated in adsorption to or growth on a process inner wall due to static electricity in the process of pneumatically conveying synthetic pulp represented by air-laid method, further, to provide a nonwoven fabric using such a material, and to provide a method for producing the nonwoven fabric.
      SOLUTION: The material is obtained by imparting an antistatic agent to the surface of a hydrous or dry sheet of synthetic pulp followed by drying and then grinding and opening the resultant sheet into the form of wool-like synthetic fiber. This material, highly suppressed in static electricity accumulation, enables the uniform nonwoven fabric free of thickness unevenness to be produced, when used as feedstock fiber in an air-laid nonwoven fabric process. Besides, the wool-like synthetic pulp can suppress static electricity accumulation even if blended with wool-like synthetic pulp subjected to no antistatic treatment.
