    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft sealing structure which does not present a decrease in shaft sealing capability due to a bend of a shaft.SOLUTION: The shaft sealing structure includes first projections 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 15 that project toward a rotation shaft from a housing 1 enclosing the rotation shaft 3 with a clearance therefrom and forms annular seal surfaces 16 perpendicular to the rotation shaft 3, second projections 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14 that project from the housing 1 toward the shaft and form support surfaces 17 opposed to the seal surfaces 16, seal rings 18 that are arranged between the first projections 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 15 and the second projections 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14 and have an inner diameter slightly larger than the outer diameter of the shaft, and biasing members 19 that are arranged between the seal rings 18 and the support surfaces 17 and press the seal rings 18 against the seal surfaces 16.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve timing adjustable device capable of enhancing workability at assembling of a chip seal without affecting the process at manufacturing of a plate spring and the chip seal.
      SOLUTION: The valve timing adjustable device is installed in a drive force transmitting system to transmit the rotation force to a camshaft equipped with a cam to open and close a valve. A hydraulic chamber to make relative revolution between a case at an input side for the camshaft and a rotor at an output side to the camshaft is formed between the case and the rotor. The case and the rotor generate the relative revolution by controlling the hydraulic pressure for the hydraulic chamber so as to change rotation phase of the camshaft, and change an opening and closing timing of the valve. Both the chip seal and the plate spring which are attached to the case or the rotor to seal the hydraulic chamber are made of a metal plate. The valve timing adjustable device is a metallic assembly which is previously and mutually assembled with the chip seal and the plate spring.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing device 1 for a rotary engine capable of preventing a twist and a cut from occurring on a seal ring 5 without impairing the assemblage of the seal ring 5 and follow-up capability of a metal ring oil seal 2 in the sealing device 1 installed in the rotor 11 of the rotary engine and sealing a clearance between the rotor 11 and a side housing 13.
      SOLUTION: This sealing device comprises the metal ring oil seal 2 installed in an installation groove 12 provided in the rotor 11 and fitted closely to the side housing 13, a spring means 3 pressing the metal ring oil seal 2 against the side housing 13, and the seal ring 5 of a rubber-like elastic material installed in the groove provided in the side face of the metal ring oil seal 2 and fitted closely to the rotor 11. The cross sectional shape of the seal ring 5 is formed such that the side of the groove 4 seated on a groove bottom part is formed in a rectangular shape in cross section along a groove shape and formed so as to provide a flat seating surface 5c. The side thereof in close-contact with the rotor 11 is formed in an arc shape in cross section mainly by an O-ring.
