    • A wiping system is provided for a vehicle including a window having a window surface and a device having a device surface. The wiping system includes a moveable blade element for wiping both the window surface and the device surface. The moveable blade element includes a first portion and a second portion. The first portion has a first profile defining a first wiping edge configured to wipe the window surface. The second portion has a second profile defining a second wiping edge configured to wipe the device surface. The device surface may protrude from the window surface, and the second wiping edge may conform to the protrusion of the device surface from the window surface.

    • An apparatus for providing a coolant to a stator and a rotor of an electric motor in a vehicle having a coolant pump is provided. The apparatus includes a base defining a plurality of first openings through at least one of which the coolant is flowable to the stator. The apparatus also includes at least one wall extending from the base to define a cavity configured to receive the coolant from the coolant pump. The apparatus further includes at least one first raised member within the cavity that extends from the base. The at least one first raised member defines at least one second opening substantially aligned with one of the first openings to form a first passageway through which the coolant is flowable to the rotor. The apparatus may be located above the electric motor such that the coolant is flowable by gravity to the stator and/or the rotor.

    • A method of forming an article from a metal alloy sheet material includes selectively hardening only a first localized area of the metal alloy sheet material without hardening a second localized area of the metal alloy sheet material, wherein the second area adjoins the first area to thereby form a blank. The blank has a hardened region formed from the first area and having a first hardness, and a non-hardened region adjoining the hardened region and formed from the second area, and having a second hardness that is less than the first hardness. The method includes stamping the blank to thereby form a preform having a pre-protrusion at least partially formed from the hardened region, wherein the pre-protrusion has a first height, annealing the preform to thereby form a workpiece, and stamping the workpiece to increase the first height and thereby form the article.

    • An integral air vent and lamp assembly for a vehicle passenger cabin includes a rotary vent housing and a hub defining an opening centered on a center axis of the vent housing having vent doors which open and close to admit or block airflow into the cabin. A lamp subassembly is disposed within the opening. The lamp subassembly may include a push-button micro-switch and light-emitting diodes (LEDs). A light diffusing lens and LED board may be positioned within a recess of an elongated T-shaped housing, which may include an axial member received by and rotating in conjunction with a gear element. The diffusing lens and LED board may be circumscribed by a bezel. A vehicle includes a power source, a body defining a passenger cabin, an air circulation device configured to move air to the passenger cabin, and the integral air vent and lamp assembly positioned in the passenger cabin.
