    • An image recording apparatus records an image by adhering ink droplets ejected from a recording head to a long recording material. A solvent in the ink droplets is removed by a heating and drying section, and a transparent sheet material is laminated onto an image recording surface of the recording material by a laminating section. Subsequently, the recording material is cut into pieces by a first cutter along boundaries of recorded images, which boundaries extend in a transverse direction of the recording material. A piece having images recorded thereon is transferred to a conveyance belt, conveyed, cut for each of the images by a second cutter, and accumulated in a print accumulating section via a conveyance belt. A piece having a single image recorded thereon is conveyed on another conveyance belt and accumulated in the print accumulating section. Thus, processing time per image can be reduced.

    • An apparatus for exposing index prints, in which a plurality of images recorded on a photographic film are displayed on an image display device and a photographic printing paper is exposed by light transmitted through the image display device so that an index print is prepared on the photographic printing paper such that the plurality of images are arranged in a matrix. The apparatus includes a system for setting the number of frames displayed on the image display device and exposure magnification of the images displayed on the image display device; dividing a plurality of image frames of the photographic film every predetermined number of frames to be displayed on the image display device; displaying, on the image display device, the plurality of image frames of the photographic film every predetermined number of the divided image frames; and exposing the divided plurality of image frames on the photographic printing paper at predetermined intervals in accordance with display of the image display device. Further, a photographic printer includes a film exposure section, an index exposure section, a conveying device, and a light-source controlling device for controlling an amount of light from the light source based on an operating condition of the index exposure section.

    • A photographic paper accommodating apparatus is disposed between a photographic paper printing section and a developing section so as to absorb or retain the slack in a continuous photographic paper fed from the former to the latter which occurs due to a difference between the respective processing speeds at these sections. First clamping and transporting rollers are provided on the downstream side of the printing section so as to define a first photographic paper looping area between the printing section and the first clamping and transporting rollers. Second clamping and transporting rollers are provided on the downstream side of the first clamping and transporting rollers so as to define a second photographic paper looping area between the first and second clamping and transporting rollers. A guide member is movable between a first position at which it guides the photographic paper from the printing section to the first clamping and transporting rollers and a second position at which the guide member guides the paper from the first clamping and transporting rollers to the second clamping and transporting rollers. Accordingly, when the exposure operation at the printing section is resumed after the photographic paper has been cut to suspend the operation, the trailing end portion of the cut photographic paper which has been exposed before the resumption of the operation can be accommodated in the second looping area, and the leading end portion of the following section of the paper exposed after the resumption of the operation can be accommodated in the first looping section.
