    • In one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device includes a plurality of pixel electrodes arranged in a matrix of rows and columns on a first substrate. A plurality of counter electrodes extend along the pixel electrodes in the row direction. Each of the counter electrodes includes a first counter electrode opposing to the plurality of pixel electrodes through a first insulating layer and a second counter electrode opposing to the first counter electrode through a second insulating layer. The first counter electrode is electrically connected with the second counter electrode through a contact hole formed in the second insulating layer. The wiring resistance of the second counter electrode is smaller than that of the first counter electrode.

    • A liquid crystal display device includes a plurality of pixels arranged near intersections between signal lines and scan lines in a matrix to form a display area. The scan lines and signal lines extend in a row and a column directions of the pixels in the display area. A first conductive layer is arranged on an insulating substrate. A second conductive layer is arranged on the first conductive layer through an insulating layer. The second conductive layer is electrically connected to the signal line. The first conductive layer includes an opposite region opposite to the second conductive layer and is arranged to surround the display area. The opposite region includes a cut out portion in which a disconnected scan line is repaired by irradiating the cut out portion with laser.

    • A liquid crystal display device comprises a display area including a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix. A driving unit to drive the plurality of pixels each having a pixel switch is connected to signal lines and scan lines. An auxiliary capacitance voltage is interposed to a pixel electrode connected to the pixel switch through auxiliary capacitance lines arranged along the pixels in a row direction. The driving unit includes an auxiliary capacitance line driving circuit to supply a first voltage, a second voltage smaller than the first voltage and a third voltage smaller than the second voltage to the auxiliary capacitance lines. The voltage difference between the first voltage and the second voltage is smaller than that between the second voltage and the third voltage.

    • A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel having an active area in which pixels are arranged in a matrix including first and second signal lines and connecting lines. The second signal lines and connecting lines extend in a column direction in the active area. The first signal lines extend in a row direction so as to cross the second signal lines and the connecting lines. The first signal lines are connected to the connecting lines through contact portions provided at the cross area where the first signal lines cross with the connecting lines interposing an insulating layer. The second signal lines and the connecting lines are pulled out from the active area to a signal supply source provided at outside of the active area without detouring in a peripheral region of the display panel.

    • In one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel having an active area for displaying images. The active area has pixels arranged in a matrix shape. The liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate having pixel electrodes of the pixels, a second substrate having a plurality of colored layers arranged side by side, and a counter electrode arranged on the colored layers facing the respective pixel electrodes. A seal element is arranged on a seal portion surrounding the active area and attaching the first substrate and the second substrate. A liquid crystal layer is held between the first substrate and the second substrate. The second substrate includes a convex portion arranged between the seal element and the active area, and the convex portion is formed of the same material as one of the plurality of colored layers.
