摘要： Various systems, devices, and methods are provided for facilitating communication between a forecourt controller and a fuel dispenser. In certain aspects, a fuel controller translator is provided for translating commands transmitted between the forecourt controller and the fuel dispenser. For example, where the forecourt controller transmits commands that are compatible with the payment terminal, but not with the fuel controller, the fuel controller translator can translate the commands received from the forecourt controller into a format compatible with the fuel controller. Conversely, the fuel controller translator can translate commands received from the fuel controller into a format that is compatible with the forecourt controller.

摘要： An improved control system for a fuel dispenser solves the problems of the prior art by enabling processing of prepaid fuel discount cards that discount only the wholesale price component of the per unit retail fuel price. The control system recalculates the per unit retail price based upon the applied discount. Upon purchase of the prepaid fuel discount card, a snapshot of the wholesale price components is taken of all fuel dispensers in a region and locked in for the purchaser at the time of purchase of the prepaid discount fuel card. A central server performs “back office” processing and recalculates the retail per unit price of fuel at the time of delivery of the fuel based upon a discount applied to the per unit wholesale price component for the fuel dispenser location where the fuel is being delivered. With the novel system disclosed herein, the wholesaler can control the amount of the discounts applied to the retail unit price of fuel. The system enables the wholesaler to create an elastic demand for the fuel and regain customer loyalty for fuel credit cards. Initially the purchaser deposits an initial amount of money in the account. The average weighted wholesale price per gallon is determined after each deposit is made. The average weighted wholesale price is used to pay for delivery of gasoline.

摘要： An electronic cigarette vaporizer that includes a heating element and further includes or co-operates with an electronics module that (i) detects characteristics of the resistance of the heating element and (ii) uses an inference of temperature derived from that resistance as a control input. The temperature of the heating element may be inferred from data stored in the electronics module that has been empirically obtained for a specific heating element design. The electronics module controls the power delivered to the heating element to ensure that it is no higher than approximately 130° C., plus an error tolerance.

摘要： An electronic cigarette vaporizer includes a heating element, an air pressure sensor and a microcontroller; the microcontroller stores, processes or determines the extent of each inhalation using signals from the air pressure sensor. The microcontroller can calculate the approximate e-liquid consumption from the extent of each inhalation or provide data that enables an external processor to calculate approximate e-liquid consumption. The extent of an inhalation is a function of one or more of: duration; peak flow rate; average flow rate.

摘要： An electronic cigarette vaporizer includes a heating element for heating an e-liquid and a microcontroller; the microcontroller determines the type and/or characteristics of the e-liquid being used and uses that as an input to automatically control the power delivered to the heating element to heat the e-liquid in a manner suitable for that specific type of e-liquid, or e-liquid with those characteristics. The e-liquid can be supplied from a cartridge and that cartridge then includes a record of the type of e-liquid stored in the cartridge and/or its characteristics and the microcontroller reads that record or is provided data from that record. A variable for the type of e-liquid and/or its characteristics is the water content of the e-liquid.
