    • In general, an RF power amplifier comprises a controller, a driver, a splitter, a final stage, and a combiner coupled together to function as the RF power amplifier. One or more of the above components are arranged on one or more motherboards, e.g., a printed circuit board (PCB). A heat sink defines a base of the RF power amplifier, and in some embodiments includes at least two grooves formed therein, wherein the electrical components of the splitter and electrical components of the controller fit within one or more of the grooves so that these components can substantially disposed within the heat sink. In some embodiments, a power rail is also provided, and is also disposed substantially within the heat sink. The power rail groove of the heat sink and the carrier of the final stage provide an EMI shield of the power rail.

    • A power amplifying apparatus is provided. A reference signal generator provides a reference signal having an enabling state and a disabling state. A digital power amplifier generates a current based on the reference signal and an input signal. An output signal of the digital power amplifier is related to the current. When the reference signal is in the enabling state, the current is related to the input signal. When the reference signal is in the disabling state, the current is irrelevant to the input signal. During the enabling state of the reference signal, a data generator provides an output alternating between an in-phase signal and a quadrature-phase signal as the input signal to the digital power amplifier. When the reference signal is in the disabling state, the data generator provides a fixed signal as the input signal to the digital power amplifier.

    • A system of detecting signal power may include a first interface port configured to receive a first signal.     • An impedance matching circuit with at least one tunable notch filter for a power amplifier is disclosed. The power amplifier amplifies an input radio frequency (RF) signal and provides an amplified RF signal. The impedance matching circuit performs output impedance matching for the power amplifier and includes at least one tunable notch filter. Each tunable notch filter has a notch that can be varied in frequency to provide better attenuation of an undesired signal. The at least one tunable notch filter attenuates at least one undesired signal in the amplified RF signal. The at least one tunable notch filter may include (i) a first tunable notch filter to attenuate a first undesired signal at a second harmonic of the amplified RF signal and/or (ii) a second tunable notch filter to attenuate a second undesired signal at a third harmonic of the amplified RF signal.
