    • The present invention is directed to an eyeglass device that has manually variable prisms to correct strabismus; that is, double vision. The variable prism eyeglasses consist of an eyeglass frame that holds two primary rings in position and provides baseline reference points for alignment. Prism lenses and corrective lenses fit inside the primary rings and allow the two prism lenses of each primary ring to rotate independently and to hold the corrective lens fixed in place relative to the primary rings. Detent channels on the upper surface and lower surface of the primary rings are the means by which the prisms are adjusted. Each prism lens is moved and positioned via a prism lens pin located in the base of each prism lens. The prism lens pins fit into the detents in the detent channels of the primary ring. The detent selected determines the amount of corrective power the prisms will produce.

    • A pair of safety spectacles include a spectacle frame, two extension legs, two spectacle lenses, and at least one reflecting lens. The extension legs are respectively extended from two sides of the spectacle frame for the user to wear the spectacles via the extension legs. The spectacle lenses are held by the spectacle frame and correspond in position to the user's eyes. The reflecting lens is formed on at least one of the spectacle lenses, such that the user see a front view through the spectacle lenses and see a rear view via the reflecting lens, thereby providing a broadened view angle for the user. The spectacles can be put into mass production with low cost.

    • An optical system is capable of enhancing vision of low vision individuals using a simple adjustment mechanism that requires a minimum length of travel to effect a desired adjustment. First and second substantially perpendicular mirrors are mounted in a cluster for substantially linear movement. A third mirror is substantially parallel to the first mirror and pivotal about an axis substantially transverse to the direction of linear movement of the cluster. Pivotal movement of the third mirror may be automatic in response to linear movement of the mirror cluster so as to ensure substantially proper convergence when the object to be viewed is about one meter (or closer) from the objective lens or lenses in a binocular system. A fourth mirror is substantially parallel to the second mirror and substantially perpendicular to the third mirror. An objective lens cooperates with the first and third mirrors, and an eyepiece lens with the second and fourth mirrors. The system, whether monocular or binocular, may be mounted on eyeglasses.

    • Mirrorized compartments for extending a diver's vertical, lateral and posterior fields of vision. The mirrorized compartments are clamped on opposite sides of the diving mask and have mirrorized surfaces which reflect light rays entering the compartments from objects above, below, the sides or rear of the mask into a diver's view. In a first aspect of the invention, the mirrorized surfaces are fixed to provide supplementary lateral and posterior fields of vision of fixed amounts. In a second aspect of the invention, the mirrorized surfaces are rotatable about horizontal axes to provide supplementary vertical or lateral and posterior fields of vision in varying amounts. In a third aspect of the invention, the mirrorized surfaces are on members which are rotatable with spherical joints to provide supplementary vertical, lateral and posterior fields of vision in varying amounts.
