摘要： Embodiments include an overlay multicast network. The overlay multicast network may provide a set of features to ensure reliable and timely arrival of multicast data. The embodiments include a congestion control system that may prioritize designated layers of data within a data stream over other layers of the same data stream. Each data stream transmitted over the network may be given an equal share of the bandwidth. Addressing in routing tables maintained by routers in the may utilize summarized addressing based on the difference in location of the router and destination address. Summarization levels may be adjusted to minimize travel distances for packets in the network. Data from high priority data stream layers may also be retransmitted upon request from a destination machine to ensure reliable delivery of data.

摘要： Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for reference picture set mapping for scalable video coding. A device may receive an encoded scalable video stream comprising a base layer video stream and an enhancement layer video stream. The base layer video stream and the enhancement layer video streams may be encoded according to different video codecs. For example, the base layer video stream may be encoded according to H.264/AVC and the enhancement layer may be encoded according to HEVC. The enhancement layer video stream may include inter-layer prediction information. The inter-layer prediction information may include information relating to the base layer coding structure. The inter-layer prediction information may identify one or more reference pictures available in a base layer decoded picture buffer (DPB). A decoder may use the inter-layer prediction information to decode the enhancement layer video stream.

The control may be, for example, any of, turning the encoding feature off, using the encoding feature less often than when encoding an image pattern representing a single image, negatively biasing the encoding feature, and enabling the encoding feature for regions determined to have zero or near zero disparity and disabling the feature for all other regions. The represented images comprise, for example, any of a stereoscopic view, multiple stereoscopic views, multiple views of a same scene, and multiple unrelated views.
