    • A liquid crystal display device includes a polarizer plate attached to at least one of outer surfaces opposed to the inner surfaces of a counter substrate and an array substrate. A liquid crystal layer is interposed between the inner surfaces. Active areas are formed on the respective array substrate and the counter substrate to form a plurality of pixels in a matrix by a shield element. The shield element is formed to surround the active area on the counter substrate and extending to a corner portion of the counter substrate. A polarizer plate fiducial mark including a first mark formed on the counter substrate by the same material as the shield layer and a second mark formed of an aperture made in the shield layer is formed to check alignment error of the attached polarizer plate.

    • In one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate and a second substrate. The first substrate includes a first source line and a second source line extending in a first direction, a main pixel electrode arranged between the first source line and a second source line and extending in the first direction, and a pair of first main common electrodes arranged on the first source line and the second source line interposing an insulating layer and extending in the first direction, respectively. The second substrate includes a pair of second main common electrode arranged above the first main common electrode and extending in the first direction, and the first main common electrode is connected with the second main common electrode.     • In one embodiment, a nonplanar display devise includes an array substrate and a counter substrate formed of non-glass material. The array substrate includes a polishing stopper layer formed on a glass substrate. A ground layer is formed on a polishing layer. A switching element is arranged on the ground layer, and a pixel electrode is connected to the switching element. The nonplanar display device is manufactures as follows. First, the glass substrate is removed from the display cell. Then, the polishing stopper layer of the array substrate is removed. Finally, the nonplanar display device is manufactured by attaching an exposed ground layer of the array substrate and an insulating layer formed of the non-glass material in the display cell.

    • In one embodiment, first and second driver circuits are arranged interposing a matrix of pixels. A timing control circuit is electrically connected with the first and second driver circuits. The first driver circuit including a first sequential circuit is electrically connected with the odd scanning lines, and supplies scanning signals to the odd signal lines in order. The second driver circuit including a second sequential circuit is electrically connected with the even scanning lines, and supplies the scanning signals to the even scanning lines in order. The timing control circuit generates first and second synchronization signals, and supplies the first synchronization signal to the first driver circuit and the second synchronization signal to the second driver circuit. The first and second driver circuits supply the scanning signals to the scanning lines in order for every line upon receiving the first synchronization signal and the second synchronization signal from the timing control circuit.
