    • A wrist-worn electronic device includes an antenna that receives externally transmitted radio signals; a case of which at least part is made of a non-conductive material; an information display unit that is housed inside the case, is flat, and is made of a non-conductive material; a back cover that is attached to the case and is made of a conductive material; and a reception unit that is positioned and housed inside the case between the information display unit and the back cover, and processes a reception signal based on radio signals received by the antenna. The antenna has an antenna electrode that is disposed and formed as a line around the outside of the information display unit. The back cover is connected to the ground potential of the reception unit and reflects the radio signals.

    • A compact antenna system that provides an antenna capable of transmitting and/or receiving radio signals configured on a flexible substrate material supporting user control interface buttons. In an embodiment, an antenna may be formed on a user control interface button flex between the wire traces used to couple the user control interface buttons to a printed circuit board. In order to prevent the interference on the antenna that may be caused when current passes through the wire traces coupling the user control interface buttons to the printed circuit board, an RF choke (i.e., LC filter) circuit and bypass capacitors may be configured along each wire trace. In another embodiment, the wire trace coupling a user control interface button to the printed circuit board may be configured to serve the dual purposes of coupling the user control interface button to the printed circuit board; and functioning as an antenna capable of transmitting and/or receiving wireless radio signals.

    • An antenna for use in an electronic apparatus includes a plurality of insulating film substrates arranged side by side. The insulating film substrates each have a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface, and a connector piece is positioned between adjacent ones of the insulating film substrates for connecting the insulating film substrates in series. Each connector piece is bendable so as to stack the insulating film substrates one on another. A spiral wire is provided on at least the first surface of each of the insulating film substrates, and an electrical connection portion is formed in at least one of an outer circumferential section and an inner circumferential section of each of the spiral wires. A connection pattern is formed on the second surface of each of the insulating film substrates for electrically connecting adjacent ones of the spiral wires via the electrical connection portions.
