摘要： A transponder module of a system for measurement of a race time includes a time base in a microcontroller, which is activated upon receipt of a low-frequency electromagnetic field signal from a transmission antenna of a measuring system which is disposed at the level of a line of passage. The microcontroller, once woken up, is capable of measuring several successive intensities of the captured electromagnetic field in order to reconstruct a curve of the electromagnetic field and to determine a crossing time on the line of passage of the transponder module with the activated time base thereof in order to transmit, to a decoder unit of the measuring system, a signal of the result of the time of crossing determined by the microcontroller.

摘要： A swimmer's lap counter for registering the number of laps traversed by a swimmer in a pool. The counter includes a waterproof housing containing a control and display unit, which floats in a pool and is anchored to the pool edge. A piezoelectric touch pad descends therefrom and extends below the water line. Deformation of the touch pad increments the counting circuit, the current numerical state of which is displayed from the housing in a manner easily readable by the swimmer. A variety of alternative anchoring fixtures for retaining the housing at or near the edge of the pool are disclosed. In a first embodiment, the housing is coupled, preferably via an adjustable tether, to a conformable bracket that the user accommodates to the pool edge or coping such that the housing (and the touch pad coupled thereto) rest flush against the pool wall. The bracket may itself be coupled to a water bladder for stability or, in a second embodiment, have sufficient length retain position by frictional contact with the pool deck. In a third embodiment, suitable for pool-edge configurations that include integral drainage troughs, the tether is coupled directly to the water bladder. In a fourth embodiment, the housing is tethered directly to the pool edge.

摘要： In a switch mechanism for an electronic timepiece, stationary switch electrodes are fitted in openings provided in a dielectric base plate. Movable contacts on a pivoted switch lever extend into the openings and are normally out of contact with the electrodes. The switch lever is movable by operation of the watch stem to bring one or another of the movable contacts into engagement with the respective electrode and thereby close the circuit, for example for adjusting the hour and minute displays of the timepiece. This construction permits making the timepiece thin.

This invention is a multiple timing apparatus including a support frame; amplifier device mounted upon the support frame; a photocell assembly mounted within the supporting surface in cooperating alignment with the amplifier device; a control panel operably connected to the photocell assembly and the amplifier device; and a control panel operably connected to the photocell assembly and the amplifier device to automatically record various points at which the respective photocell beams are broken. Other embodiments of this invention concern the use of mechanical means for breaking a circuit to actuate a stopwatch or the like used in athletic events. Still, more specifically, this invention relates to the use of an electronic source such as a photocell or ultrasonic beam or a mechanical means whereupon the breaking of the same operates to actuate a timing mechanism to accurately record the time at which such beam or mechanical structure was broken.
