    • A motor control center (MCC) unit for installation in a compartment of an MCC includes a frame, a bus contact assembly supported by the frame and comprising at least one moveable bus contact configured to releasably engage at least one power bus of the MCC, an auxiliary power input supported by the frame and configured to be connected to an external power source, and a control circuit supported by the frame. The MCC unit further includes an interlock circuit configured to selectively couple the control circuit to the at least one bus contact and the auxiliary power input responsive to positioning of the at least one bus contact. The interlock circuit may be configured to prevent power flow between the control circuit and the auxiliary power input when the at least one bus contact is engaged with the power bus.

    • A racking assembly for an electrical apparatus is provided. The racking assembly includes a movable carriage assembly and a drive assembly. The movable carriage assembly is sized to fit within a housing assembly and is structured to be moved between a first position and a second position. The carriage assembly is further structured to support at least one electrical component. The drive assembly includes a motor assembly and a positioning assembly. The motor assembly is structured to impart movement to said positioning assembly. The motor assembly is coupled to said positioning assembly. The positioning assembly is structured to impart movement to said carriage assembly and to move said carriage assembly from said first position to said second position. The positioning assembly is coupled to said carriage assembly. In this configuration, the racking assembly is structured to move the carriage assembly, and therefore the electrical apparatus, between the first and second positions.

    • A lever pivotally mounted on a forward brace of a removable control unit abuts a pin on the cabinet for limiting direct insertion of the unit to a depth insufficient to effect electrical engagement of plug-in connectors of the unit with bus bars in a motor control cabinet, such engagement requiring subsequent pivotal movement of the lever which automatically latches the unit in the cabinet. A compound movement of the lever is required to release the latch and separate the plug-in connectors from the bus bar. A detent structure maintains the lever in a first position for inserting the control unit into the cabinet and padlocking provisions are provided to insure the lever remain in that position when desired, thereby blocking full insertion of the control unit into the cabinet. Interlocking means between the operator assembly for the control unit and the lever prevent pivotal movement of the lever and consequently engagement or separation of the plug-in connectors and bus bars when the control apparatus is in its ON condition.
