摘要： Electrical units for a Motor Control Center (MCC) can be improved to provide ventilation for cooling elements of the unit while also providing better system protection by providing a combination of baffle assemblies and protective layers over openings providing the ventilation in doors of the units. The baffle assemblies can be configured to provide arc flash resistance for containing possible arc blasts within the units, and water intrusion resistance for protecting the units from possible water intrusion, while allowing substantial airflow. The protective layer, which could include a steel mesh and/or dust filter, can be configured to prevent solid objects above a certain size from passing through the opening allowing the airflow. As a result, airflow can be increased to cool elements of the unit while maintaining protections from arc flash, water intrusion and/or solid objects.

摘要： An apparatus having an enclosure that is mountable on a computer rack. The apparatus comprising: a U-shaped plate, two end-caps, and a module having three faces. The U-shaped plate comprising a channel and forming a bottom face and at least a portion of the front and back faces of the enclosure. The module, which has three faces, is configured to mate with the U-shaped plate via the channel. When the module is mated with the U-shaped plate, the three faces of the module form, at least partially, the top, front and back faces of the enclosure. 摘要： A double shutter shroud (5) and a flexible sheath (11) surrounding a stab (10) of an MCC unit, form a protective tunnel (30) for the stab to connect to a bus 4. A first shroud (6) mounted on the bus, includes a first gate (12). A second shroud (20) mounted on the MCC unit includes a second gate (24). When the MCC unit slides into an MCC section, a unit key (16) opens the first gate. When the stab is advanced toward the bus, a stab key (28) opens the second gate, forming a protective tunnel (30) from the flexible sheath and through the first and second shrouds. The protective tunnel protects the stab and bus from contamination, helps prevent dielectric breakdowns and short circuits between different phase busses, and protects an operator from electrical hazard of touching the bus or stab with tools or fingers.

摘要： A connect/disconnect mechanism for an MCC unit, prevents a circuit breaker from being turned on while the unit is being inserted into an MCC section, until stabs of the unit have been connected to a power bus. A cam is rotatably mounted on a pivoted platform in the MCC unit, an actuating arm is coupled between a unit on/off handle of the MCC unit and the cam, and a bail is pivotally mounted on the pivoting platform and connected to a switch handle of the breaker. A cam surface in a slot of the cam is configured to engage a pin projecting from the bail, when the pivoted platform is forced in a backward direction to connect the stabs to the bus, thereby operatively connecting the unit on/off handle to the switch handle of the breaker.

摘要： A terminal assembly may be provided which utilizes an electrically insulating cover to electrically isolate upper portions of screw terminals. The electrically insulating cover could be made from plastic, rubber or some other electrical insulator, and could be mounted on a frame configured to engage with a frame supporting the screw terminals. While lower portions of the screw terminals may continue to electrically connect with electrical connectors for receiving load stab conductors (from a unit), upper portions of the screw terminals may be electrically isolated to protect from short-circuit, and/or shock, such as while a door or access panel of a wire-way is removed. The electrically insulating covers may also include cable glands for circumferentially surrounding wires leading to the screw terminals. A retainer clip may also be used to securely hold the electrically insulating covers to the frame supporting the screw terminals.

摘要： An electrical enclosure wherein an electrical component can be moved between various positions (e.g., connected, disconnected, test, etc.) without opening an enclosure door. The electrical enclosure supports a component for movement between a withdrawn position, a test position, and an inserted position. A handle is accessible by an operator from an exterior of the enclosure and is configured to move the component between the respective positions without having to open the enclosure. The handle is integral with the enclosure and thus an operator needs no special tool or other device to effect movement of the electrical component between its respective positions.
