摘要： A circular polarization antenna whose radiation pattern is in the shape of a body of revolution about an axis and has a radiation minimum in the direction of this axis comprises a reflective conductive surface which is essentially in the shape of a body of revolution about the axis. A rectilinear conductive rod extends axially from a first end at the level of and isolated from the conductive surface to a second end and is connected at its first end to an excitation line. A plurality of radiating arms each have a first part extending in an essentially radial plane from the second end of the conductive rod. This first part is electrically connected at its proximal end direct to the conductive rod and is extended at its distal end by a curvilinear rod typically lying on the surface of a sphere centered at the second end and whose general direction is inclined relative to the radial plane.

摘要： A coplanar patch antenna is formed, e.g as a printed circuit, on a dielectric support (1) by a metal patch (2) spaced from a coplanar ground plane (3) by a peripheral slot (4), and in the improvement is series fed by means of a slot line (5). The slot (4) can be made resonant by having a periphery of one wavelength or an odd multiple thereof, and a second slot line (7) can be fed into the slot (4) at a distance of one or an odd multiple of a quarter wavelength from the slot line (5) to provide an independent feed. The arrangement presents a feedpoint impedance of about 50 ohms at the ports (6,8) instead of about 400 ohms in prior arrangements.Balancing loads or 180 degree hybrid feeds to other quadrature ports (11,12) can be used to correct beam asymmetry due to the slot line feeders (5 and 7).

The coil includes a plurality of turns of flat spring wire. When the coils are extended to a desired length, the turns of flat spring wire can be adjusted such that a number of the turns are expanded while the rest of the turns are contracted near the outer edge. The number of expanded turns can be varied at the given length of the coil to obtain tuning to the desired frequency.
