The area size setter sets the area size of each area in the semiconductor memory based on the specified setting condition according to the command received from the accessing device.

摘要： A data processing apparatus is capable of playing back contents stored in a specified area in a recording medium. The recording medium stores content data and management information for managing the content data. When playing back a content which is managed by the management information on the recording medium but of which entity data is not present in the specified area of the recording medium, the data processing apparatus, searches, for the content, the other area of the recording medium with a search section. When the corresponding content is found, the link information selling section sets the link information (symbolic link, shortcut, etc.) on the recording medium so that the content can be accessed with the management information.

摘要： A memory controller, a nonvolatile storage device and a nonvolatile storage device system are provided, in which the matching check between content data and meta data can be simplified, a starting time can be shortened, and further, a host device side can provide users with a common GUI without being conscious of the Usage Rule including an encryption method for copyright protection and a copyright protection method and a content management. A write status holding unit that holds write status information to identify the content data being written, and a content management unit that manages the content data and the meta data are included. The content management unit eliminates mismatch between the content data and the meta data based on the write status information. Further, a GUI script generating unit is included which generates a script describing the screen display contents in accordance with a request from the host device for the content data.

The controller reads and writes data from and to the recording area, and sends the data of the recording area and update information to a data processing apparatus via the host interface part. In particular, the present invention is characterized in that updated information of the update notification part is updated immediately before data of the recording area is updated. The value of the update notification part can be referred to from the data processing apparatus but cannot be updated thereby. The data processing apparatus holds update information of the update notification part, whereby it can determine whether or not data stored in the recording area has been updated by another data processing apparatus. In this way, it becomes possible to determine the validity of the cache information and also determine that of index files.
