    • A light emitting element head includes a first light emitting element array, a second light emitting element array, and an optical device. The first light emitting element array includes a plurality of light emitting elements arranged in a main scan direction. The second light emitting element array includes a plurality of light emitting elements arranged in the main scan direction. The optical device focuses a light output from the first light emitting element array and the second light emitting element array on a photoreceptor to form an electrostatic latent image on the photoreceptor. The first light emitting element array and the second light emitting element array are overlapped each other in a sub scan direction in an overlapping section. Interval between the light emitting elements of the first light emitting element array are different from interval between the light emitting elements of the second light emitting element array.

    • An apparatus, system, and method to flash print an image. The apparatus includes an energy source that delivers energy. The apparatus includes an energy pulse width modulator coupled to the energy source. The energy pulse width modulator may receive energy from the energy source and modulate the energy received from the energy source. The energy pulse width modulator may be driven by a logic module. The apparatus also includes a plurality of imaging pixels modulated by the energy pulse width modulator and conveying modulated energy to a host material. The host material may be in close proximity to a receiving medium and the modulated energy may release dye from the host material into the receiving medium.

    • An optical scanning device that scans a scanning surface in a main scanning direction. The device includes a surface emitting laser as a light source, an optical deflector that deflects a light flux from the light source while rotating around a rotation axis, a monitor light receiving element, a synchronization detection light receiving element, a monitor optical system that directs the monitor light flux to the monitor light receiving element, a synchronization detection optical system that directs the synchronization detection light flux to the synchronization detection light receiving element, and a scanning optical system that directs a scanning light flux to the scanning surface. A combined focal length of the monitor optical system in the main scanning direction is smaller than a combined focal length of the synchronization detection optical system in the main scanning direction.
