摘要： An ink cassette capable of being mounted in a printer includes a supply bobbin, a winding bobbin, a plate member, and at least three engaging portions. The plate member is provided on an end part of the ink cassette on a near side of the ink cassette in a mounting direction of the ink cassette. The at least three engaging portions are provided in the plate member and engage with engaging portions of the printer when the ink cassette is mounted in the printer. In a case where the ink sheet, pulled out from the supply bobbin, and a print sheet are overlaid and pressed against a print head of the printer, ink is transferred from the ink sheet to the print sheet.

摘要： A security-enhanced document including a substrate, variable indica applied to an area of a first side of the substrate, a scratch-off-coating applied over the variable indicia to maintain the variable indicia unreadable until the scratch-off-coating is removed by being scratched off, and digital imaging applied to an area of a reverse side of the substrate from the variable indicia, wherein the digital imaging applied to the area of the reverse side of the substrate includes the same materials as the variable indicia, is uniformly spread over the area of the reverse side of the substrate, and such that the digital imaging overlaps at least 50% of the variable indica applied to the area of the first side of the substrate, such that the variable indicia exhibits an insufficient signal-to-noise ratio relative to the signal-to-noise ratio of the digital imaging on the reverse side of the substrate so that the variable indicia cannot be discerned so long as the scratch-off-coating remains intact.

摘要： Techniques for scrambling residual images left behind on print ribbons due to printing on plastic cards or passports. A string of characters to be printed onto a plastic card is divided into character subsets. Metadata is assigned to each character subset, with the metadata defining the print sequence and location on the plastic card of each character subset. The character subsets are then printed on the plastic card in the sequence and the locations determined by the metadata. The sequence of characters in a residual image left on the print ribbon after printing of the character string differs from the sequence of the characters in the character string printed on the plastic card or passport.

Each cassette includes an RFID tag storing cassette information related to the cassette. The RFID tag includes a tag antenna configured to communicate with the reader antenna. Communication sensitivity between the reader antenna and the tag antenna when the cassette is mounted in the cassette mounting portion is different for each type of cassette. The controller performs: communicating via the RFID reader with the RFID tag of the cassette mounted in the cassette mounting portion; and determining whether a value of the return energy received by the RFID reader in the communicating falls within any one of the standard ranges indicated by the correlations.

摘要： A decoloring apparatus includes a sheet conveying unit, a scanner, a decoloring unit, and a controller. The decoloring unit decolors the image on the sheet conveyed through the sheet conveying unit. The decoloring unit is positioned downstream of the scanner in a sheet conveying direction. A distance along the sheet conveying direction between the scanner and the decoloring unit is shorter than a length of a first predetermined sheet size and longer than a length of a second predetermined sheet size. A controller determines whether the sheet conveyed by the sheet conveying unit is the first predetermined sheet size or the second predetermined sheet size. The controller performs a mode limiting process if the sheet size is determined to be the first predetermined sheet size.

摘要： A method and equipment to form a digital print by applying dry colourants on a surface of a panel, bonding a part of the colourants with a binder and removing the non-bonded colourants from the surface. The method of forming a digital print on a surface of a panel includes displacing the panel under a digital drop application head, applying a liquid binder with the digital drop application head on the surface; applying colourants on the liquid binder and the surface; bonding a part of the colourants to the surface with the liquid binder; removing non-bonded colourants from the surface such that a digital print is formed by the bonded colourants; and applying heat and pressure on the panel, the surface and the bonded colorants such that the colourants are permanently bonded to the surface.
