摘要： A joint sleeve is proposed for connecting busbar sections, each having connectable contacts. In an embodiment, the sleeve includes—a non-magnetic case defining butt ends occluded with non-magnetic flanges each having a hole securing the respective busbar section therein,—a fire-resistant coating covering the case,—an electrically insulated supporting tube disposed within the case and defining a chamber therein, enclosing the connectable contacts,—a grounding screen mounted on the supporting tube, and—a fire-resistant layer disposed between the case and the screen capable of thermal expansion upon heating thereof, thereby improving fire-resistance. Instead of the fire-resistant layer, another embodiment includes an annular air chamber formed between the case and the supporting tube, while the annular chamber is in communication with hollows, and the supporting tube is closed by another pair of flanges with holes securing the respective busbar sections. The sleeve allows for improving fire-safety of power consuming facilities.

Each busway section includes a housing including first and second opposing side portions. Each busway section includes a first insulator held in the first side portion and a second insulator held in the second side portion. The first and second insulators each hold one or more bus bar conductors. The joint assembly includes first and second connected joint housings and plurality of joint conductors held in the first and second housings. A first exposed portion of each joint conductor extends out of the first housing and is electrically connected with one of the bus bar conductors of the first busway section. A second exposed portion of each joint conductor extends out of the second housing and is electrically connected with one of the bus bar conductors of the second busway section.

摘要： An improved electrical system may be provided by electrically isolating exposed live fasteners and bus clamps in power distribution systems by attaching electrically insulating snap-based cover assemblies to the live fasteners and bus clamps. A cover assembly may include a plate element and an electrically insulating cap element. The plate element may have a plate opening and a beveled edge, and the electrically insulating cap element may have a cap edge followed by an interior recess. The cap element and the plate element may be held together by snapping the cap element over the plate element such that the beveled edge fits into the interior recess and the cap edge fits below the beveled edge. The cover assembly may be attached to a fastener or bus clamp via the plate opening.

The second extension piece may also have multiple surfaces. When connected to a bus bar, the first extension piece and the second extension piece may be substantially adjacent to one another.
