    • The present invention relates providing a magnetic data eraser that is capable of performing magnetizing process for magnetizing magnetic recording medium such as a hard disk drive (HDD) is easily and with reduced electric power.The magnetic data eraser includes: holding drawer means for holding a magnetic recording medium which means has a mounting tray for mounting the magnetic recording medium, wherein the mounting tray is inclined a predetermined value of degrees of angle; and magnetizing means for magnetizing the magnetic recording medium, wherein the magnetizing means is covered by a magnetizing coil and has a hollow body portion, the holding drawer means being accommodated in the hollow body portion, and the magnetic recording medium being placed on the mounting tray of the holding drawer means.

    • A magnetic head in one embodiment includes a bottom pole; a top pole positioned above a plane extending through the bottom pole and parallel to a plane of deposition of the bottom pole, wherein the top pole is at least partially offset from the bottom pole in a direction parallel to a plane of deposition of the top pole; a first write gap in the top pole; and a first coil for generating a magnetic flux across the first write gap. A method in one embodiment includes forming a bottom pole; forming a top pole above a plane extending through the bottom pole and parallel to a plane of deposition of the bottom pole, wherein the top pole is at least partially offset from the bottom pole in a direction parallel to a plane of deposition of the top pole, wherein at least one write gap is formed in the top pole; forming side poles for coupling the top and bottom poles; and forming a first coil for generating a magnetic flux across the first write gap.

    • A magnetic recording head for use in perpendicular magnetic recording having a design that allows the write coil to be manufactured by a damascene process for increased coil pitch and reduced coil resistance. The magnetic write head includes a photoresist dam structure that allows a hard baked photoresist to be formed that does not extend to the air bearing surface (ABS). Since the photoresist dam prevents the hard baked photoresist from reaching the ABS, the damascene process, in which the hard baked photoresist remains in the finished write head, can be used to produce the write head. The use of such a damascene process advantageously allows the space between the coil turns to be reduced, which maximizes the number of turns that can be used and also maximizes the number width to which the coil turns can be constructed, thereby minimizing the electrical resistance of the write coil.
