摘要： A pad of disposable protective barrier films for adhesive attached to a blood pressure cuff prior to its placement on a limb of a subject. The barrier film is a thin, non-permeable polymer, typically having a thickness of between approximately 1.0 and 3.0 mil. A portion of the side of the barrier adapted for attachment of the blood pressure cuff is coated with a low tack adhesive. The low tack adhesive holds the barrier in place during installation and use of the blood pressure but allows easy removal and disposal thereof upon completion of the blood pressure measurement. A unique packaging system is provided whereby no adhesive backing strips are required, successive barrier sheets are merely peeled from a stack. In still other embodiments, the barrier or the adhesive may include a germicidal material to further help protect the blood pressure cuff to from germs or other contamination.

摘要： A method of making a lightweight thermal shield that includes obtaining a mold having a shaped support screen with a molding surface configured to allow the passage of air and moisture therethrough, and with the mold being adapted for drawing a vacuum from behind the support screen. The method also includes applying a wet insulation material onto the molding surface of the support screen and drawing a vacuum to withdraw moisture through the support screen and consolidate a layer of insulation material on top the molding surface. The method further includes removing the consolidated layer of insulation material from off the molding surface, installing the consolidated layer of insulation material into an outer shell layer, and drying the consolidated layer of insulation material within the outer shell layer to form a lightweight core insulation layer.

摘要： NBT-PVA film dosimeters performance is affected due to high humidity levels. NBT-PVB film dosimeters with a relatively small effect of high humidity levels on its performance are invented. NBT-PVB film dosimeters are made by using alcoholic solution to dissolve both of NBT and PVB. The films are very useful for routine dosimeter in industrial radiation processing. A very high sensitivity NBT-PVB Radio-chromic film dosimeter is achieved due to high solubility of NBT dye in 2-methoxyethanol enabling the addition of very high concentrations of NBT dye in the film dosimeters. The dose response of conventional NBT-PVA dosimeter films are normally saturated after 50 kGy, while the invented composites of NBT-PVB dosimeter films demonstrated high dose range up to 100 kGy for high dose industrial use.
