摘要： A connector includes a shell that has a cylindrical shape and includes a body portion and a leg portion, the body portion being connected to a shell of the other connector, a ground plate that is a conductor plate, a claw that has a structure in which part of the ground plate is raised in a connector connection direction so as to have a strip-shaped tip and the tip supports the leg portion of the shell, and a case made of an insulator, the case to which the shell and the ground plate are to be attached. The case includes a plate-like base portion, a slit that is provided in one surface of the base portion, the slit into which the leg portion is to be inserted, and a groove that is provided in the other surface of the base portion, the groove into which the claw is to be inserted.

The upper shell defines a portion of a cavity of the backshell and includes a top wall and an upper shell side wall extending from the top wall to a bottom of the upper shell. The lower shell defines another portion of the cavity of the backshell. The lower shell includes a bottom wall and a lower shell side wall extending from the bottom wall to a top of the lower shell. The top of the lower shell generally mates with the bottom of the upper shell at a mating plane. The fastener extends along a longitudinal axis generally parallel to the mating plane.

摘要： Systems and methods for maintaining a desired compressive force on seals in an electrical junction such as a pothead connector for an ESP motor. In one embodiment, insulated conductors of a power cable extend into a housing of a connector. The insulated conductors pass through an upper insulator, a set of elastomeric boot seals, and a lower insulator. O-rings are positioned between the upper insulator and the housing of the pothead connector. The lower insulator is secured to the upper insulator by a set of bolts and springs that urge the lower insulator toward the upper insulator, compressing the boot seals. The bolts are threaded into the upper insulator and are tightened to compress the springs against the lower insulator. The compression of the boot seals between the insulators maintains a desired range of contact pressure against the seals despite changes in the seal dimensions.

The housing may include a receptacle that is configured to communicatively couple to a bus. The receptacle may include one or more internal retention springs situated inside the receptacle. The one or more internal retention springs may be configured to grip a male plug with a retention force, when the male plug is inserted into the receptacle. The housing may include or may be coupled to a clamp where the clamp is external to the receptacle. When the male plug is inserted into the receptacle, the clamp may be adjustable via a clamp adjustment mechanism to constrain the one or more internal retention springs, thus augmenting the retention force and further securing the male plug in the receptacle.
