    • An electronic device and battery are presented. The electronic device includes the battery, which has a first latch. The first latch has an arm and a hook. The arm is connected with the battery at a connected end and the hook at a free end opposed to the connected end. The hook forms a peak and a base connected with the free end. The base forms an inwardly projecting groove. The electronic device also includes a device housing forming a main cavity bound by first and second side surfaces, a rear surface and a bottom surface. The first side surface includes a ledge for receiving the groove and defines a latch cavity for receiving the first latch. In an engaged position, the peak extends into the latch cavity and the groove engages the ledge.

    • This invention includes an electronic accessory having a single button that actuates all of its control features. In one embodiment, the accessory is a MP3 player wherein songs are stored on a multimedia card. Once the card has been loaded an inserted, the MP3 player is coupled to an energy source. In a preferred embodiment, the energy source is preferably a cellular telephone. After coupling, all of the functions of the MP3 player are controlled with a single button. In a preferred embodiment, power is actuated by pushing the button for one second. Volume is adjusted by toggling the button laterally. Tracks are selected by pushing the button quickly while power is applied. Power is turned off by depressing the button for two seconds or more.

    • An interconnect assembly (100) includes a spring member (200) integrally formed of a first portion (202) having two prongs (208) and a slot (210), the first portion being coupled to a second deflected portion (204) formed of a cantilevered beam (212) with interference fit tabs (214) extending from either side. A latch (400) includes hooks (406) and foot members (408). A housing (600), such as a battery pack housing, includes a side surface (606) having protrusion (602) and pockets (604) formed therein along with vertical side channels (610). The spring, latch and housing (200, 400, 600) are coupled such that the vertical channels (610) capture and guide the interference fit tabs (214) down the side of the housing (600) as the foot members (408) of the latch (400) are inserted into the pockets (604) of the housing (600). As the spring member (200) is pushed downward, the protrusion (602) of the housing (600) captures the slot (210), and the hooks (406) of the latch (400) capture the interference fit tabs (214) of the spring member thereby providing a locked latch-spring assembly (1000).
