    • Certain aspects are directed to a mounting assembly for mounting an antenna unit or other device. The mounting assembly includes at least one bracket and at least one retaining assembly. The bracket can be movably positioned at multiple orientation angles with respect to a surface. The bracket includes a latching edge that defines multiple recesses. Each of the recesses corresponds to one of the orientation angles. The retaining assembly is positioned adjacent to the bracket. The retaining assembly includes at least one protrusion that can engage one of the recesses to form a latching connection between the bracket and the retaining assembly. The latching connection can retain the bracket at an orientation angle corresponding to the engaged recess.

    • Certain aspects and features are directed to determining characteristics such as phase margin and gain margin of signals such as standardized orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (“OFDM”) signals. In one aspect, a processing system can identify multiple carriers in an OFDM signal communicated by a repeater. The carriers include carriers from frequency guard band other than those used for communicating payload data or pilot data. The processing system can generate dynamic characteristic data to be sent via the carriers. The processing system can generate modulate the carriers with the dynamic characteristic data. The modulated power level of the carriers is less than a maximum level of noise filtered by a device receiving the OFDM signal.

    • An interface module (4) for a unit (1, 2) which is designed to transmit and/or amplify essential communication signals inside an antenna distribution system (29) is specified, said module comprising a first analog interface (6) for forwarding and receiving essential communication signals from mobile terminals (32), a second interface (7) for forwarding and receiving essential communication signals from the antenna distribution system (29), at least one signal path (9, 10) for forwarding the received communication signals between the two interfaces (6, 7), and a controllable digital unit (11) which incorporates the signal path (9, 10) and has means for digitizing incoming communication signals and for subjecting outgoing communication signals to analog conversion. In this case, the digital unit (11) is designed to identify essential communication signals in the digitized communication signals, to mask the remaining signals and to forward the essential communication signals. An antenna distribution system (29) having at least one master unit (2) and a number of remote units (1) which are connected to the latter and are equipped with such an interface module (4) is also specified. The invention makes it possible to use the advantages of a modern radio network architecture to communicate on essential communication channels.
