    • A wagering game system and its operations are described herein. In some embodiments, the operations can include initiating, at a gaming machine, an analysis mode of a wagering game training tool associated with a wagering game, and determining when a player has played a predefined number of rounds of the wagering game. The operations can also include determining a skill level associated with the player for one or more areas of skill associated with the wagering game based, at least in part, on the predefined number of rounds played by the player. The operations can further include identifying an area of skill associated with the wagering game where the skill level associated with the player is less than a predefined skill level, and initiating a training mode of the wagering game training tool to improve the skill level associated with the player in the identified area of skill.

    • An original file of a versioned WPAR, that are incompatible with a global operating system, can be persistently replaced with a corresponding replacement file that is compatible with the global operating system. For this, the original file can be renamed and a symbolic link file can be created to reference the replacement file instead of the original file. A software maintenance program can also be persistently replaced to preserve the replacement file and to maintain compatibility with the global operating system regardless of new instances of the original file delivered by the software maintenance program. The replacement file that corresponds to the original file can be identified and renamed. In response to detecting a new version of the original file, the new version of the original file can be renamed. A reference to the new version of the original file can be updated to reference the replacement file.

    • Functionality can be implemented in a virtual memory manager (VMM) to allow small pages (e.g., 4 KB) to be coalesced into large pages (e.g., 64 KB), so that a single free list can be maintained for the large pages (“maintained pages”). When a process requests a small page, the VMM can associate a maintained page with a memory segment accessible by the process. Then, the maintained page can be divided to form a set of small pages (“fragments”). The fragments can become available pages in a broken page list. The VMM can satisfy the request by allocating one of the fragments in the broken page list. If the process requests additional small pages, the additional requests can be satisfied from the broken page list. When the process terminates, the fragments in the broken page list become a maintained page and can be returned to the free list.

    • A data query instruction for execution is received, wherein execution of the data query instruction is to cause a data transfer into or from a data warehouse. The data warehouse includes data servers that are communicatively coupled for data transfer through a link aggregation group having at least two data links. Responsive to receiving the data query instruction and prior to or at least partially overlapping with execution of the data query instruction to cause the data transfer, which of the number of data servers are to receive or transmit data as part of the data transfer is identified; for each of the identified data servers, a minimum number of the at least two data links that are needed for the data transfer are identified; and if inactive, the minimum number of the at least two data links for each of the identified data servers are activated.

    • A system for granting and managing dynamic digital achievements can grant dynamic digital achievements in a controlled manner to encourage player participation in wagering game establishments. A dynamic digital achievement lives beyond an initial grant and can exhibit different behaviors over time and/or in combination with other digital achievements. The dynamic digital achievements can comprise an image, a sequence of images, video, executable code, audio, etc. The dynamic behavior of a digital achievement can increase interest in the digital achievement, thus increasing interest in the corresponding activity, whether wagering game activity or non-wagering game activity. Moreover, the system for granting and managing dynamic digital achievements is not limited to wagering game networks. The system can interface with other vendor systems and cause a dynamic digital achievement to exhibit behavior based on activity by a player in a non-gaming environment.
