摘要： Embodiments describe techniques for reducing resource overhead in verbose trace operations by recursively pruning object data prior to string serialization. According to one embodiment, a trace operation is initiated. The trace operation generates a string and specifies one or more objects to serialize and append to the string. At least one object is a nested object. The trace operation recursively parses the nested object while generating the string. Data associated with one or more of the objects to prune from the serialization is determined based on a current prioritization level. The one or more objects is serialized into the string.

摘要： A method, system and computer program product for selecting a target hypervisor to run a migrated virtual machine. An “effective priority value,” representing the virtual machine's priority with respect to the other virtual machines running on the same hypervisor, is calculated for the virtual machine when it is running on the source hypervisor as well as if it were to run on a target hypervisor for each possible target hypervisor. The target hypervisor associated with the minimum difference in absolute value terms between the virtual machine's effective priority value calculated when it is running on the source hypervisor and its effective priority value calculated if it were to be migrated to run on a target hypervisor is selected to receive the migrating virtual machine. In this manner, the effective priority metric has enabled a target hypervisor to be chosen that most closely matches the priority environment of the source hypervisor.

The utilization of resources, such as servers in a service infrastructure of a SaaS provider, are monitored. If the utilization of a resource exceeds a threshold, then the resource is identified as having an excessive service load leading to a potential service load interruption. When a request is received from a user requesting to access such a resource, one or more action items to be completed by the user are generated and presented to the user. “Action items” refer to any activity that is required by the user to be performed thereby providing the SaaS provider additional time to address the potential service load interruption in an appropriate manner. Additional action item(s) will be presented to the user until the SaaS provider addresses the potential service load interruption, at which point, the request will be serviced.

Demographic criteria (e.g., age) is received to form demographic groups of members of an organization. Demographic information along with interests of the members are retrieved. Such member data is analyzed within the constraints of the demographic criteria to generate a statistical distribution of members of the organization that forms an initially desired distribution of content of the multimedia document among the demographic groups of the organization. An indication is then provided to the user regarding whether the current distribution of the content of the multimedia document among the demographic groups of the organization satisfies or does not satisfy the desired distribution of content among the demographic groups. In this manner, the user can ensure a desired distribution of content in the multimedia document among different demographic groups.

A desired distribution of facial signatures in a multimedia document to be created by the user is received. Upon receiving an image to be added to the multimedia document by the user, a facial signature for a face detected in the image is generated. The current number of instances of the facial signature in the multimedia document is then determined. A determination is then made as to whether the current number of instances of the facial signature meets the desired distribution. An indication is then provided to the user as to whether the current number of instances of the facial signature meets or does not meet the desired distribution. In this manner, the user can ensure a desired distribution of images in the multimedia document.

A threshold amount of data to be consumed over a period of time (e.g., billing period) by the mobile computing devices belonging to the shared data plan is received. Upon receiving a message from one of these mobile computing devices that contains an identifier that indicates that the message pertains to data usage information for the shared data plan, the current data usage metrics for the mobile computing device that sent the message is retrieved from the message. The value of the aggregate data usage is updated with the retrieved data usage metrics. Actions, such as throttling the data usage, are performed in response to the aggregate data usage being within a designated amount of data to the threshold amount of data to be consumed.
