    • An exemplary converter circuit has a converter unit with plural actuatable power semiconductor switches, and the DC voltage side of which is connected to a capacitive energy storage circuit. The capacitive energy storage circuit has at least one capacitive energy store and at least one snubber network for limiting the rate of current or voltage rise on the actuatable power semiconductor switches of the converter unit. In order to reduce undesirable oscillations in an overcurrent in the capacitive energy storage circuit, the capacitive energy storage circuit has at least one passive nonactuatable damping unit having a unidirectional current-flow direction, where the passive nonactuatable damping unit has a diode and a damping resistor.

    • A housing for a power semiconductor, providing a compartment for installation of a power semiconductor, and including a first and a second terminal. The terminals are for connection of a power semiconductor installed in the compartment, and for leading current to and from the compartment. The housing includes a contact mechanism for bypassing the compartment, the contact mechanism including at least one movable contact arranged for electrically connecting the first and second terminal, the at least one movable contact being movable between a disconnected first position and a connected second position. The contact mechanism further includes a bypass actuator arranged inside the compartment and provided for transforming a pressure from an exploding semiconductor into motion, the bypass actuator is operatively connected to the movable contact and arranged to move the movable contact from the first to the second position when subjected to the pressure of an exploding semiconductor.

    • An exemplary test arrangement for in-situ partial discharge measurements in distribution transformers has at least one test system with a plurality of test components including: an AC voltage source for producing a variable test voltage with a measuring apparatus for recording current pulses caused by partial discharge and with an evaluation apparatus for the recorded current pulses, a grounded test container in which at least some of the test components are arranged, and a distribution transformer connected to the AC voltage source as a test object. The test object is arranged on insulation means for electrically insulating the test object. Those parts of the test object which are grounded during normal operation being connected at least to the potential of the grounded test container.
