    • A self-shunting security system for detecting the absence or presence of a removable auxiliary alarm assembly for preventing theft of one or more products operatively connected to said system. A port is operatively attached to circuitry and is adapted to receive the removable auxiliary alarm assembly. A shunting assembly is also operatively attached to the circuitry and is disposed in relation to the port for detecting the absence or presence of the removable auxiliary alarm assembly within the port. The port and shunting assembly are in parallel electrical configuration. The shunting assembly automatically forms a first closed circuit when the removable auxiliary alarm assembly is not inserted into the port. Insertion of the removable auxiliary alarm assembly into the port opens the first closed circuit and forms a second closed circuit so that tampering with or removing the removable auxiliary alarm assembly opens the second closed circuit creating a moment in time where the second closed circuit and first closed circuit will both be open to activate a warning indicator.

    • A notebook computer stand includes a base and an anti-theft circuit received in the base. A number of supporting pads are positioned on the top surface of the base, to support a notebook computer. The anti-theft circuit includes a pressure sensitive switch, an alarm, a control switch, and a battery. The pressure sensitive switch, the alarm, and the control switch are connected in series. The pressure sensitive switch is positioned on one of the supporting pads. When the notebook computer is placed on the top surface, the pressure sensitive switch is open. The pressure sensitive switch is closed when not under the pressure applied by the weight of the notebook computer, and the battery supplies power to the alarm, the alarm works, when the control switch is closed.

    • In various representative aspects, a security alarm system for protecting an HVAC unit from theft. The system includes an alarm; a control box; a switch connector comprising two terminals, as well as an open state and a closed state; and a fastener that holds the switch connector in the close position while connected to an HVAC unit. The conductors connect the switch connector to the control box, forming a circuit. The control box can apply an energy potential across the circuit, detect an energy flow across the circuit, and trigger the alarm if the energy flow stops. Normally, the terminals do not touch each other, and the switch connector is in its open state. When they touch each other, the switch connector goes to its closed state. If the fastener is removed from the HVAC unit, the switch connector returns to the open state and triggers the alarm.

    • A communication port identification system enables an intelligent interconnect patch panel to reliably track connections to network switches. Network switch ports are provided with port ID modules that are inserted into the ports. Intelligent interconnect patch cords each utilize a patch cord microcontroller and out-of-band conductors to enable communication between an intelligent interconnect patch panel and the port ID modules of the switch port. Each port ID module is provided with a unique identification number, and the intelligent interconnect patch panel is thereby able to track all of its connections to the port ID modules in real time, and to update a network management system accordingly.

    • An alarm system is applied for a computer to warn an owner of an electronic device via a terminal when the electronic device is detached from the computer. The alarm system includes a memory unit and a main controller connected the memory unit. The main unit controller includes a recording unit, a determining unit, and an information obtaining transmitting unit. The recording unit is used to log the electronic device detachably connected to the computer. The determining unit is used to determine whether the electronic device detachably connected to the computer is detached from the computer. The information obtaining transmitting unit is used to read the alarm information from the memory unit when the electronic device is detached from the computer, and transmit the alarm information to the owner' terminal.

    • A data center equipment location system includes both hardware and software to provide for location, monitoring, security and identification of servers and other equipment in equipment racks. The system provides a wired alternative to the wireless RFID tag system by using electronic ID tags connected to each piece of equipment, each electronic ID tag connected directly by wires to a equipment rack controller on the equipment rack. The equipment rack controllers then link over a local area network to a central control computer. The central control computer provides an operator interface, and runs a software application program that communicates with the equipment rack controllers. The software application program of the central control computer stores IDs of the equipment rack controllers and each of its connected electronic ID tags in a database. The software application program in operation receives information from the electronic ID tags in real time enabling the central control computer to monitor the status, such as temperature and movement or tampering of each piece of equipment through its connected electronic ID tag. Further, the software application program can send a signal to an individual electronic ID tag to activate a sensory indicator to enable a technician(s) to locate a piece of equipment that is in need of repair or replacement.
