    • The present invention provides a collapsible shaft and control assembly that is useful for transferring rotational control valve movements to a control surface. The invention includes a housing, shaft, and actuator arm. The housing defines a hollow cylinder. The shaft has a resilient end with a plurality of flexible strips capable of radial bending so as to transition between an expanded position and a compressed position. The shaft is positioned in the hollow cylinder, in the expanded position, so that the shaft can rotate. The actuator arm is positioned within the resilient end of the shaft so as to maintain the resilient end of the shaft in the expanded position. Both the actuator arm and shaft include reciprocal engagement means, and the actuator arm and shaft are positioned so as to engage the reciprocal engagement means. A rotational movement of the actuator arm thus causes a rotational movement of the shaft. A flapper affixed to the shaft can direct air depending on the radial position of the shaft.

In one embodiment, this system and method begins by identifying at least one subset of program code. The method may then generate at least one set of configuration memory contexts that replaces each of the at least one subsets of program code, the at least one set of configuration memory contexts emulating the at least one subset of program code. The method may then manipulate the at least one set of multiple context processing elements using the at least one set of configuration memory contexts. The method may then execute the plurality of threads of program code using the at least one set of multiple context processing elements.

    • An apparatus for stabilizing a scanning system during lithographic processing comprises a baseframe, a reaction mass, and a pair of flexures connecting the reaction mass to the baseframe. The apparatus also comprises a second reaction mass and a second pair of flexures, placed in parallel to the first to form a split reaction mass system. The apparatus is configured such that, upon acceleration of a stage movably coupled to the reaction masses, a resulting load is split substantially evenly between the first and second reaction masses. Also upon acceleration of the stage, the first reaction mass rotates in the opposite direction of the second reaction mass, resulting in a net moment reaction on the baseframe of approximately zero.

    • A method utilizes sputter transport techniques to produce arrays or layers of self-forming, self-oriented columnar structures characterized as discrete, single-crystal Group III nitride posts or columns on various substrates. The columnar structure is formed in a single growth step, and therefore does not require processing steps for depositing, patterning, and etching growth masks. A Group III metal source vapor is produced by sputtering a target, for combination with nitrogen supplied from a nitrogen-containing source gas. The III/V ratio is adjusted or controlled to create a Group III metal-rich environment within the reaction chamber conducive to preferential column growth. The reactant vapor species are deposited on the growth surface to produce single-crystal MIIIN columns thereon. The columns can be employed as a strain-relieving platform for the growth of continuous, low defect-density, bulk materials. Additionally, the growth conditions can be readjusted to effect columnar epitaxial overgrowth, wherein coalescence of the Group III nitride material occurs at the tops of the columns, thereby forming a substantially continuous layer upon which additional layers can be deposited. The intervening presence of the column structure mitigates thermal mismatch stress between substrates, films, or other layers above and below the columns. A high deposition rate sputter method utilizing a non-thermionic electron/plasma injector assembly is provided to carrying out one or more of the growth steps.
