    • An exemplary embodiment provides a winder for an electrode assembly of a rechargeable battery capable of improving productivity by shortening a winding cycle. A winder for an electrode assembly of a rechargeable battery according to an exemplary embodiment includes: a nip roll catching and feeding a positive plate and a negative plate, and a separator; a rotor disposed below the nip roll to rotate; and a plurality of winding cores arranged in the rotor at a regular interval in a rotation direction of the rotor to rotate and move forward or backward from the rotor, wherein the center of the nip roll, the center of any one winding core among the plurality of winding cores, and one surface of an electrode assembly of another winding core which is winding-completed form a straight line.

    • A lead-acid battery of the present invention includes electrode plate units, each including a positive electrode plate, a negative electrode plate, and a separator. The positive electrode plate is a positive electrode grid filled with paste including powder of lead oxide as a main component. The negative electrode plate is a negative electrode grid filled with paste including powder of lead oxide as a main component, and including carbon black. The positive electrode plate faces the negative electrode plate. The separator is provided between the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate. The positive electrode grid includes gates, each being generally diamond-shaped, and being more than or equal to 50 mm2 and less than or equal to 100 mm2 in area. The carbon black has a DBP oil absorption of more than or equal to 140 ml/100 g and less than or equal to 340 ml/100 g.

    • An electrode assembly and a secondary battery having the same improve efficiency and stability of the secondary battery.     • The invention relates to an article comprising: a) one or more stacks of battery plates comprising one or more bipolar plates; b) located between each plate is a separator and a liquid electrolyte; further comprising one of more of the features: 1) c) the one or more stacks of battery plates having a plurality of channels passing transversely though the portion of the plates having the cathode and/or the anode deposited thereon; and d) i) one or more seals about the periphery of the channels which prevent the leakage of the liquid electrolyte into the channels, and/or posts located in one or more of the channels having on each end an overlapping portion that covers the channel and sealing surface on the outside of the monopolar plates adjacent to the holes for the transverse channels and applies pressure on the sealing surface of the monopolar plates wherein the pressure is sufficient to withstand pressures created during assembly and operation of electrochemical cells created by the stacks of battery plates; 2) c) a membrane comprising a thermoplastic polymer is disposed about the entire periphery of the edges of the stack of plates; 3) wherein the separator is in the form of a sheet having adhered to its periphery a frame; and 4) c) an integrated valve and integrated channel communicating with the valve.
